Good evening, I was hoping someone here might be able to point me in the proper direction.
I recently, today, did a reinstall of my system using Ghost to carry over all of my old settings. However, it seems to have not worked properly. Upon testing the AMVapp system, it displayed all but two of the tests accurately. these were the YUV2 Colorspace and YV12 Colorspace.
My first instinct was to uninstall the AMVapp in its entirety and reinstall. During the reinstall I told it to delete the old plugins (as I never added anything beyond the default) and and write a fresh set in. All other settings were followed using the "AMVapp - What is it and how to use it" guide on this site.
Again when it got to the YUV2 and YV12 colorspace tests it went a bit wonky. The YUV2 test attempted to contact Microsoft and ended up cancelling itself due to inability to download a suitable decompressor. The YV12 test gave me a blank field - all black.
I then attenmpted to follow the directions given in the Troubleshooting pages. Found myself unable to open the configuration file for ffdshow, but able to open the VFW Configuration file.
I went through each and every one of the five possible solutions in the Troubleshooting page and found no solution worked. Including two more reinstalls. Both after complete uninstalls, running a cleaning of the registry through System Mechanic, system power down, reboot, and reinstall.
Has anyone out there encountered this? If you have, what was your solution? There has been no change in the hardware from the working version I had before reinstalling the system today.
Other notes:
When I right click --> Properties ---> advanced on the media player during the playback of not only the working ones, but also of the nonworking tests it gives me "Video Renderer" as the engine.

Not having experience with the new AMVapp, I would suggest installing <a href="http://www.neuron2.net/www.math.berkele ... HuffYUV (supposedly, it will act as the system's default YUY2 codec if you have no other YUY2 codecs installed) and XviD individually and see if that helps.
