Year in Review...
What have you done this year? How does it compair to the year before? Your future plans in regards to AMV creation? Other such questions....
This year I completed 8 videos. (2 of which are non-anime, so not listed here). I technically have 1 more video made, but it's going to be my first entry for 2006. 2004 I completed 7 videos. I think the videos I made this year were better in editing, but also in output quality. I was working really hard this year on getting videos to contests with the best video quality I could send it. I ended up sending alot of DVDs. I was proud to finally make the finals at AX (the one major convention I had not made the finals of, and had been trying to do so for years...and it's a local convention for me). I've also had a real joy in that Mie'aga is local and an AMV creator in my production company, so we can critique and get feed back on our work before we finish it. This has also been really useful. In 2006, I'm going to be working on getting a copy of Adobe After Effects and learning how to use it, so I can use more effects in my videos, specifically character masking.

Learned a number of really basic hit-confirms for supers. Namely c.lk, c.lk, super. Working on actually hit-confirming it in round, as that's much harder to do. I also read up on a bunch of basic links, such as Makoto's Hayate x SA1 and Ryu's f.hp x SA2. Found out that shoryuken supers only work OTG on Dudley, and they can be tech-rolled anyway. Still working on juggling with Makoto's Fukiage, as it's ridiculously hard, but it would be a free stun off of SA2. I think I'm going to pick up Urien soon, so I can work on doing Aegis Reflector unblockable setups.

Well 2005 for me was alot better this year than 2004. This was my first year editing in Adobe Priemere 6.0, After Effects and Photoshop. In 2004 I made 4 videos. This year I only made 3, but I found that I'm spending more time paying attention to more details. I might of had 4 or 5 done this year but some family issues came up. It was also an emotional year for making amv's for my last one Outlaws Don't Stop (Remake) was a tribute video to both of my grandparents. I have to say comparing the videos from 2004 to this year the quality of my work has improved but there is always room for improvement. This year contest wise has went a lot better. Eventhough I didn't make the Otakon finals this year, that will be my goal for 2006. However in 2005 I did finally win my first contest at Anime Festival Orlando. Back to Paradise won Best Action.
I do have to say this 2005 has given me a lot of inspiration for 2006. And I'll defidently will be editing next year. Sierra Lorna continues to suprise me. Istiv is just unbelievalbe, I mean "The Race" omg that is insane. Plus "Jihaku" another great video that was released this year. I have at least a list of 50 amv's that I would consider the best of 2005. I've seen some rookies come on to the scene this year and one in the contest I'm running right now. ssj4lonewolf has some good videos for being a rookie creator. Anyways I look forward to 2006.

Made my best video ever, and then months later the links had to be removed.
Had my first brush with doing trailer parodies (as opposed to helping with original trailers).
Made a video I loved, then hated, and now can tolerate. Somehow it has gotten insanely popular on YouTube.
Aquiline did first collaborative video. It was nice.
We also both got into the Otakon finals together (same category, even) for the first time.
Received "PS2 DDR Game Disks"!
Learned "Rip Tracks from Game Disks"!
Learned "Use DDR Song (WIN INSTANT)"!
Participated in AWA Pro for the first time. Would definitely do it again.
Followed the doom9 AVISynth-related fora more than before. Picked up some new <s>Sears Craftsman</s> handy tools. Started going insane and running a billion filter tests.
I finally won at Otakon! ... but I wasn't there to see it.
with apologies to Trythil and Dokool

I liked DTTW: SOTAC, though : (Beowulf wrote:I worked on a video that took me almost two years. Next year I plan on returning to more conventional length videos, as the public has made it very clear that those are what it prefers.
Me?
I've made 3, and participated for the first time in contests. I came in second in one, didn't place in the other. And I got into metal this year. Hopefully, I'll get something more out next year.

Well, for me, 2005 was an okay year. I finished three videos (counting an MEP segment), with a fourth that will be be my first entry on 2006, compared with only two videos completed for 2004.
I only submitted to four contests, made the finals at two, won nothing, but my videos were apparently well-received, which is a prize in and of itself.
2005 marked my transition to the Mac platform and Final Cut Pro, though I continue to use my trusty MediaStudio Pro for my longer, non-AMV things (like soccer and football games for local cable), since my Mac laptop doesn't have the space to work on them.
I've continued editing in the same style that I've used since I started 2001, though I'm planning on changing my style fairly radically for my next video, which will be my Anime Boston, Otakon, or next year's Katsucon entry, depending on when I actually finish it (grad school eats time like nothing else).
I only attended one con in 2005, Bakuretsucon, which was fun, though I'd like to attend something larger in 2006, the difficulty being where I live (tiny rural community in extreme northern Vermont) makes travel extremely expensive.
At this point, 2006 looks to be a pretty good year, as I've got a number of ideas for videos and the source footage to pull them off, the only thing I lack is time to actually do them.

This is the year that everything happened.
I started making AMVs this year, so i have made my worst and best.
I learned Contests are the most exhilerating thing when you have your video in them and are sitting in the crowd.
I learned where the render lensflare option is and why not to use it.
I learned that there is an intire chatroom full of, as (if not more) screwed up people then me
I learned School kills AMV creation
I participated in MEPs
I learned Corn doesn't have to go into your mouth.
and Finally me and a group of other fools have been resposible for unleashing the most horrible AMV monstrosities on the .ORG public.
