Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Set to E. S. Posthumus' Harappa, a Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children montage.

Enjoy!

OUCH.

Someone just gave me a one for this video.

If only they'd told me how to make it better too...

Maybe ask for opinions in the Opinion exchange forum and somebody will probably give you a detailed review. Just from your description though, nobody wants to watch just a montage of your favorite scenes. Maybe give this a look through and the guides are always worth a look. Good luck.

Isn't that what a music video technically is, though? A montage of an anime or anime-ish video shown to music? *nitpicky*

For instance, I have a lot of rhythmic sync in this vid and a fair bit of mood-sync and I hope it's got a bit of reviewability (I certainly didn't get bored while I was watching and rewatching to be sure all the synchs were on beat).

I'm working my way through the guide right now, but that Wiki article is very helpful and I shall refer to it with my next video.

Thanks! :)

I liked the sync, but there didn't seem to be much of a story. I will also say that people really don't like subtitles (a trick with FFV:AC I found is some of them you can save to have the subtitles turned off by default so they won't impact your work) although with subtitles I don't take that into consideration for the overall video since I know not everyone (even me) has premiere or want's to make their videos look like crap with vdub. Also at the end there it didn't really leave you with a feeling of completion it just sort of ended. Even so I still enjoyed watching your video.

I think you did a great job with the sync especially with using MM, and a great song I love E. S. Posthumus.

Most music videos should tell a story. its one thing to throw a bunch of clips together then sync the beats to the song with points in the clips and what not.
Your video is good but it needs a story with it otherwise it just gets boring.

ya know?

Ah!

There is a piece on storytelling AMVs in the Wikipedia entry. I will take your advice to heart and go read that before I make more vids.

Thanks all!
