Adobe Premier 6.5 not accepting .avi?

hi as the title says. It does accept some avi files but not all

How do i resolve this problem or have i got to just convert all files to another format??

It's not a problem with your .avi container, it's that you're using (probably illegal) divX or Xvid fansubs. Editing programs don't like DivX.

im just importing clips from dragonball arena..
what can i do to solev the problem?

Convert your .AVI's into a lossless codec like HuffYUV or Lagarith. Just use VDub/Mod to do it. That usually fixes the problem. Good luck.
