For the sake of making this interesting, I'll include reasons for my choices:
1. Corkus (Berserk) -- This guy gets a MASSIVE bum rap...and it's kind of easy to see why...yes, he's a whiner...yes, he's an asshole...yes, to an extent, he's even a coward...but he obviously wasn't a complete wuss if he stuck with the Hawks all that time...even till the very end he was at the front of the ranks (not exactly liking it, but hey) ...and, all things considered, his anger at Guts isn't exactly uncalled for...yeah, he was probably out of line in trying to rob him, but look at it this way...as Corkus sees it, this stranger just killed one of the Hawks and took off another's arm...and what do they do to him? He becomes Griffith's new pet project! ... If I were in his boots, I'd have wanted him dead too.
2. Keiral Mekirel (Mobile Fighter G Gundam) -- Another guy who never really seems to get the respect he deserves. The guy's clearly skilled, he was one of the only fighters who, in a straight-up fight, almost killed off Domon (while being blind no less)...plus, even if his Gundam looked ridiculous, there's no denying that sucker did some pretty powerful damage during the assault on the Devil Colony (...another thing he doesn't get any credit for...he and Allenby were the two leaders for the attack, but Allenby's the one that gets all the glory)
3. Takashi, aka #26 (Akira) -- Not sure how minor this one would be, but he's still a pretty cool character for his part...perhaps the most human in behaviour of the three ESPer children, he's also one of the ones that gets to do the most storywise (awakening Tetsuo, albeit inadvertently, helping awaken Akira, and he was the first to move to save Kaneda in the end...had he not moved, they all probably would have moved back, leaving him on his own.
4. Miharu Ratoki (Mobile Suit Gundam) -- Even though she wasn't around for long, her involvement was probably one of the best arcs in the entire series (or movies, depending which setup you use.) They didn't have much time to work with, but they still managed to make her a sympathetic character, and when her part was over, it hurt...
5. Punch (Cowboy Bebop) -- The over-the-top performances...the cheezy faux-Texas voice...and then seeing the human side of him in the final eps off the set...yeah, he was only a side-character, but I still liked him
