Don't Get Lost in Heaven, A Macross Zero AMV

Post by Guyver2019 » Sun Jun 11, 2006 6:30 pm

In the mood for a story? I made this AMV to go along with the story told in the "song" by the Gorillaz, Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head. If you've heard the song you know what I'm talking about, if not, sit back and prepare to hear an interesting tale of the "happy people"

Title: Don't Get Lost in Heaven
Anime: Macross Zero
Song: Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head

I was relatively skeptical to download this video since I had always imagined this song being used with FLCL, since it seemed soooooo perfect. But, I can't deny that I totally love the Gorillaz so of course I was gonna give it a shot.

All in all, I thought you did a GREAT job with the video. The series fit the song more than I expected. You didn't overdo anything with effects over-synching. It was simple narrative storytelling and it worked. Big thumbs up for me :)

The only thing I think could've made it a bit better is if in the final section you had used some of the sound effects from the anime itself (the wind, explosions, etc.)

nice job. Good story telling, and choice of source for the song. Nice matchup on visuals to lyrics. Unlike other videos which use too literal lyrical synch, you used a nice match, keeping a nice linear storyline.

I'm a little late to the party, but I just wanted to say I really liked this video. Very moody.

This video is fucking awesome. Lovely story telling pulls the viewer in, and the editor lets it sit with you instead of messing it up with too many cuts or effects.

5 stars
