Huffyuv Installation Problems

Post by SrgtWilco » Mon Nov 13, 2006 8:30 pm

Okay, I'm trying to download Huffyuv from its main site, but I'm running into a problem. It says on the "installation" section of the site:
To install Huffyuv just download the zip file above, uncompress the files to a temporary directory, right-click on the huffyuv.inf file and select "Install."
Except when I open the file, it looks like this:

and right-clicking the icons doesn't bring up an "insall" feature (probaly since a file labeled huffyuv.inf is nowhere to be seen, though there is one labeled .dll). I might be missing out on the "uncompress the files to a temporary directory" bit - if so, how do I do that?

right click the middle one, on (or near) the top of the list should be an install option

but you have to unzip the folder first (if you haven't already)

Might I boldly suggest instead of downloading HuffyYUV from its website, that you use AMVApp (which installs everything, including HuffyYUV, and the every popular Lagarith)? You can find the install here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... mvapp.html

You don't see the .INF extension because you have Windows set to hide known file extensions. To disable this behaviour (WHY is it enabled by default?), open a Windows Explorer window and, from the Tools menu, select Folder Options..., then hit the View tab and uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" option.

Click that "Extract all files" link on the left side of the window.
