Avisynth and directshow when combined with vdubmod can in almost every situation I come across can usually tackle the task. I know it works for OGM files.

I know this might be the most simple thing but have you tries ensuring everything has been uninstalled correctly? like, try uninstalling the thing, and any pack you got that might contain it (or even packs which contain it but you told it not to install) and then if you kept all the installers in a folder to save time, just reinstall them all. (and if you didnt keep them all in a folder then u got a long search ahead of you)

Ok, what program would I need to convert FOB to AVi andf Dubmod keeps saying:
"Couldn't locate decomposer or format 'XVID' (unknown)
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows(VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable".

How can I solve this problem?

Codec you need!!! I think I seen that awhile ago in my laptop when I try to open my vid file too! Just read what Scintilla say,:
Scintilla wrote:All you have to do is download and install the XviD codec:
http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml

Once that's done, both VDub and VDubMod should have no problems opening XviD-encoded AVIs.
And it's works ;) :) If not ask Scintilla about it :) ;)
