One of THOSE threads...
Yes, as the subject implies - you've all seen this type of question before.
Here's the scoop. I don't have internet at home (only dial-up available where I am) and don't have cable or anything like that. So as far as what's new/exciting I'm pretty much clueless.
I'm looking for a new anime series for my little sisters. Since they're young, I have to put huge effort into finding age appropriate material. I have Azumanga Daioh, Cardcaptor Sakura (the Japanese version), several of the Miyazaki films, and I'm wondering what else is out there.
English or Japanese language doesn't matter. They actually prefer the Japanese voice acting. I know I'm being picky...

Many thanks. I saw the first few eps of Kare Kano back in college but heard that the series didn't really have an ending to speak of so I was hesitant to buy it.
Just a question here - I know I'm being prudish - does Love Hina have any suggestive (or outright adult) content? My little sisters are 10 and 12 and I am an over-protective brother.

Umm... not really adultish... but somewhat suggestive. I'd probably pass on that one to begin with. Kare Kano may be a little to complex for them and it doesn't really have an ending (long story).DocturKnowles wrote:Many thanks. Fruits Basket is a sure fire bet.
Try looking into Kaleido Star and Angelic Layer

Well, its fantasy violence and not exactly realistic. So it could be considered ok. But compared to Hello Kitty, yes, it is kinda violent. (Lots o' demon slaying.) Believe it or not, there is some violence in Hello Kitty Animation Theatre, though nothing really bad. They actually stay fairly true to the stories and people actually die in that one. There's some fighting in the Fairy Tale episodes of Hello Kitty and Friends, but no one dies. Hello Kitty Paradise is pure "Lets all be friends" fluff.Krisqo wrote:Umm... don't you think that would be a lil too violent. o.Owurpess wrote:HELLO KITTY!!!!!! Can't get much more clean than that. (I'm a big Hello Kitty fan. ) There's always the ever popular Inu Yasha and Sailor Moon.
But yes... Hello Kitty too.

What I'm saying is the blood. Like when Inuyasha cuts off Seshomaru's arm when he's in his demon form.wurpess wrote:Well, its fantasy violence and not exactly realistic. So it could be considered ok.
