Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Neon Genesis Evangelion AMV (My very first one!)
This is a rather awkward way to introduce myself, I guess, but I made this AMV over the course of TWO epic days. It took me between 5-6 hours to make it, so don't be too harsh with the criticism, this is my VERY first one.

It's AMV set to the song of The Best is Yet To Come, which is a main theme song for Metal Gear Solid 1.
Please leave comments?
The subtitles are there since I found them to be fitting. Except the big "DON'T" when EVA-01 crushes the entry plug. :/

It's usually customary to reserve the a-m-v.org announcements forums for videos that are...well...on this site.
the announcement forum eitquette says that you should at least put the video information on the site.
people will hound you if you leave subtitles in...just letting you know.
I'll look at your video, but don't expect rave reviews...youtube (if you're wondering what youtube is, it's a word filter that does that...that site isn't well-liked around these parts)

I'll give it a quick review. (I won't mention the subs)
video quality: I noticed that the footage was interlaced, which degrades the quality with lots of little lines (interlacing artifacts). not bad quality for a youtube video, but it could have definately been better
audio: youtube probably messed this up.
sync/editing: there wasn't a lot of editing done...and I couldn't see a clear theme. You did pretty well with matching the mood of the song to the video, but some more clips would have made it feel less "empty".
de-interlacing will not only improve the video quality, but also will improve your sync in faster videos (it's really hard to sync accurately with itnerlaced footage, and it looks really bad if you slow it down/speed it up)
beware of orphen frames! (when you have a few frames from a previous scene at the start/end of some of your clips) some programs (Windows Movie Maker for example) can't really help you with this because to get rid of it you need to be able to go frame by frame.
there are several ways to do that but I won't go into detail.
overall, about average for a first video, perhaps a little bit better.

Well, I used Vegas 7 for this video and I don't know whether it's a suitable program to use or not for AMV's.
But I'm taking your suggestions. I know it's a little rushed, I basically did no editing. After I was done, I was just eager to get it on the web. :/
I'll upload the video onto this website by this weekend.

Excellent choice, but never use Windows Movie Maker.......EVER, that is unless its the only thing you have, but in this case that is a negativeCrackTheSky wrote:Vegas is win.MrKoreanguy wrote:Well, I used Vegas 7 for this video and I don't know whether it's a suitable program to use or not for AMV's.
