Any recommendations?

I'm quite new to this because I've only seen a few anime movies and some random episodes from different (popular) anime series. And I usually prefer to non-anime movies and series anyway.

However, I want be a part of this. And I'd really appreciate some good anime recommendations from you people

I'm really into Asian ghost movies such as Ring, Ju-on and (most importantly) the Whispering Corridors franchise (my avatar!) And I really like serious, surreal, melancholic, psychologic and character-based movies. So if there's an anime meeting some of those criterias, I'd really like to hear about it (of course it doesn't have to be "exact" Just something similar)

And what else.. I don't like scifi that much.. Anyway, thanks in advance!

I would like to point you towards physiological thrillers then. Neon Genesis Evangelion (NGE) comes first and foremost to mind. Perfect Blue would be another recommendation, although it is R-rated.

it's something simillar to Evangelion though it's more like sci-fi,and not very psychological...

Um... not true. Now I'm not quite sure about this (because I just started watching it) but I heard Monster messes with your mind and that it has several twists in the story. It might have what you're looking for.
