ugly underside of the anime industry

Matsuda Sakumi(58), chairman of seiyuu talent agency Arts Vision, has been officially charged on the 28th with the molestation of a 16 year old girl. He brought the girl into his office and commited acts of indecency when she auditioned back in December 2006, promising that he would make her a seiyuu. Matsuda has admitted to the charges. The police are continuing their investigations on suspicion that this is not the only case that he has committed.

I personally hope the guy gets put away for the rest of his life. No suicide for him either.

This sounds like the plot of a bad hentai.

suprise suprise. coming form a place where there are moe and dojinshi following for girls as young as chiyo chan I'm not suprised. Not to mention the majority of hentai readers are buisness men, and to add that most hentai heroine (if you will) are school girls. It is not unusal for a well off business man to fly to Cambodia and buy the virginity of a minor (its not uncommon to be as young or younger than 12) individual (note individual as Cambodia is still a third world country) as it is believed to promote long life. I don't understand why anyone is suprised personally. As long as it was consentual and he kept good on the deal... Wudeva, its been part of the culture for eons. Just cause the western 'civilized world' frowns on it. It wasn't long ago that girls were in arranged marriages and mothers by that age in Japan as well as Europe. I mean Jews celebrate barmitzvah at age 13 and thats is a coming of manhood party in the biblical sense.

x2. Even here on the org it's considered "elderly" - either 16 or 18, depending on who you ask. At best, you're a MILF at 18 or 20.

Anyway, age entirely aside, one notable "ick factor" isn't the girl's age but the guy promising her a (completely unrelated) job if she did what he said. The abuse of power. That would be a problem regardless of the age of all parties involved.

So kaze no moui, you'd be happy to suck some old man's cock to get a job? That's useful information for posterity, I'm sure.

The whole thing is a little OT except as a counterpoint, to remind us that yes, Japan is a country on Earth too, with social problems as well as shiny entertainment exports.
