Has Anyone seen Paprika yet?

Post by Anlushac11 » Sun Jun 10, 2007 6:31 pm

Just watched it.

I was impressed. I thought the artwoork and stroyline were well done

I also really liked the music.

Did anyone else who watched this think it reminded them of Paranoia Agent just a little bit?

Satoshi Kon directed both titles and Seishi Minakami was a writer for both titles.

It's not playing in any of the theaters around here otherwise I'd already have seen it... :(

Is it a movie? Series? Licensed? Being fansubbed now?

It would be damned cool if some series premiered in theaters...

Trailer is here.

It wasn't in theaters where I lived either, but I really want to see it. I've only seen one of Kon's works (Paranoia Agent, actually) but I enjoyed it immensely and Paprika looks very interesting. Before I knew it was Kon's work I also noted that it reminded me of Paranoia Agent. I'm hoping that I'll enjoy it just as much when I do get the chance to see it.

I went and saw it last night. I thought that it was an absolutely wonderful film

It's sort of like a combination of Millenium Actress and Paranoia Agent, in a way. Kon continues to return to themes that were in each and continues to build on them.

Anyway, I loved it :O

It was subtitled.

Definitely worth a watch. I was also impressed with the soundtrack and the art was definitely up to par with Kon's other works. But, you have to be in the right mood for this film, it was really strange, even for an anime fan like myself.

I was disappointed. Nowhere as trippy as the trailers led me to believe.
