Having trouble merging a song.

I've been trying to do this with Audacity for the last two hours and it can't seem to blend two parts without transitioning.

The song I'm using is Beauty is Within Us by Yoko Kanno. I'm trying to take out the part between "O Mother dear, let me out of here" and the violin part beginning at about the last 48 seconds of the song.

) here's what I usually do at such situations:

Make sure that the remaining parts can indeed blend together. Zoom in and compare the wave forms and check that the patterns match. Sometimes you can't merge two parts as is and you will have to use an extra part as filler.

In some songs taking out a verse is very easy but in others... And as far as I know Yoko Kanno's music is a bit complex... Trial and error it is!

I think I have a idea how to shorten it. I'll take out the violin part despite how much I like it seeing as the final notes seem to jump in all of a sudden.
