Ok so my old program just is gone (long story).
I need a new program to capture footage off of my video camera and onto my computer. Criteria is as follows
1. Must use Firewire to capture (this is the only available port on my computer and the camera is too old to have a USB slot)
2. Relatively cheap (the cheaper the better, so long as it captures off my camera without difficulty and at a usable quality for AMVs I don't care)
That's all, jus tso you know my camera is a Sony Digital 8, uses 8 mm tapes. Like I said it's a bit old but I haven't had a need for anything better.
All recomendatiosn are welcome.

Virtualdub has included Firewire capture for quite a while now (I think the 1.6 tree introduced it, current version is 1.6.19 stable and 1.7.2 experimental). It's free, runs on both 98 and XP, and does a good job from everything I've seen.
