extracting clips
What's the best way to extract/make clips from a video file?
Better, is there any way to make virtual dub not to save along with the clip I want the first keyframe in front of it?
ex:
frame -
keyframe +
video: -----+---------------+-----------
I select to save: --
the program saves: +--
pls help!

If your version of VirtualDub has an "Open file via AVISynth..." option on the File menu, use that to open the file. It will automatically create an AVISynth script for you in the same directory.
If not, pull up the usual Open dialog box and see if there is a drop-down box marked "Use AVISynth template".
If neither of these is the case, then get VirtualDubMod instead and try again.

Clearly the OP didn't actually mean s/he was taking frames from the very beginning of the video. The first frame can't be a delta frame, because if it was, it would have nothing before it to refer to.
By way of clarification: HDjunkie, you meant to say that the program saves starting with the first keyframe before the first frame of your selection, right?

.. Scintilla although you and I may know the difference, they may not understand what the editor is trying to correct ...
.. if I understood the question correctly; they wanted to know why they were trying to save non-key frames and the Editor kept saving only the locations where a Key Frame was available.
-- I could be wrong
