Need Help finding the right video editing software.

Post by DarkSchneider » Sun Sep 23, 2007 10:17 pm

Hey all,

Well back in June my comp died cuz of my motherboard, big blow to me. Took a little while, but I got a new comp. I thought the problem was solved as I was reloading Ulead Mediastudio Pro 7, however I ran into a little snag. Vista doesn't like it, and oddly every program runs fine except for Video Editor. So I started looking for a new program to use, I've recently tried a "try before you buy" version of Ulead's Videostudio Pro 11, it looks great but for one little flaw, it wont allow me to edit my videos with any flexibility. In other words, it starts me off at the beginning, and I can't just skip until I find a time to return to that point if you follow my meaning. So i'm thinking Videostudio Pro 11 may not be the program im lookin for. Im thinkin of pickin up Adobe Premiere Elements, but Im not too sure on that either because its been a long time since I used that as well. Can anyone help me make a decision in this matter? I wanna return to AMV making as soon as possible, but I wanna know whats the right program, especially when I have a Vista comp now. Thanks.

Adobe Premiere CS3 or After Effects. Magix or Avid Xpress HD.

.. quite a few programs have gone to hell just to meet the Vista Designing requirements.
Coral/Ulead 11 Pro
Magix Pro 12
Pinnacle 11 Pro
Avid Pro .. while other programs like Vegas & Primere seem to have become limited.

.. It might be best if everybody just waits for a year with WinXP until MicroSoft get's its updates released.

Well, I don't necessarily know whats the best out there, if it weren't for my comp dying, I'd still be on my XP system and still be using Ulead Mediastudio Pro 7. Pretty much what I'm askin is whats the best program out there thats as good as, and is Vista-friendly.

And as for the other programs mentioned, do you have links and such so I can see for myself, and are there any evaluation versions where it allows you to try it for 30 days before you have to buy it for continued use(like Ulead Videostudio Pro 11 I'm trying)?

.. the easiest and most fun programs are always "MovieEdit Pro2004 e-version" 's
.. why ?
.. it was designed for 800mhz processor and low memory.
