Em, I noticed that this forum mainly has topics regarding ripping video from games, so if this question is out of line then I apologize.
Basically, I'm trying to get some of the character artwork out of the game and on to my computer. I already ripped the ISO from my game onto my HD, but it seems that I'll need some sort of searching device to find the images... or something.
Is this even possible? I know the artwork has to be stored in the game somewhere, so it seems feasible.
Thanks for reading, and many thanks if anyone can help me out. And again, I sincerely apologize if this topic does not belong here.

if the game shows you artwork somewhere in the game, then yes it is possible to rip it. Once you are sure of that then see if the disc/game is not using any unknown format (or a format of its own) to store files.
Look for tools on the internet e.g. ps2/ps3 has several games that use TIM as a file format to store images/artwork. Many of them even use regular TIFF/JPG format to store artwork. You'll just need to look around.
