VDubMod converting issue

Post by RyuDeathstrike » Sat Dec 29, 2007 11:27 pm

I've been looking through the guide, trying to find a way to make the finished video less than 50gbs(after avisynth'ing). Is there a way?

Thanks in advance!

50GB's

How big is the current file?

Have you tried compressing it?

I've tried to use 2 suggested compressors in VDub on 2 seperate tries: Huffyuv v2.1.1 and Lagarith.

I selected them in the Video | Compression ... am I doing it wrong?

50GB for 2 hours sounds about right.

everything sounds right... but it all depends on what you want to do with the footage.

-if you want to simply make a copy for viewing, you don't need lossless compression; use something like XviD, or h.264at a high bitrate, and you'd be hard-pressed to notice the difference in quality-- I wouldn't.

-if you want to make a copy for editing... different story; yes lossless=good. You can avoid big files by:
-making clips
-Editing with .avs scripts
