Toph vs Gaara

who would win in a fight and why?
I know this is only half about anime but I found a cool picture of Toph and Gaara and my friends all said Gaara would "Kick Toph's @$$. Me being a Toph fan through and through didn't take to this too well.

so I was wondering how many people agreed with them.

Gaara is from Naruto
Toph is the blind earth bender from Avatar:The Last Air bender.
