How do I Get the Sound from a Trailer ?

Hello everyone.
I looked at a lot of AMV of this site which have the sound of movie trailers on the background but the images are anime.

I would like to create an AMV of that kind and I have the trailer in mpg, wmv or avi. My question is : how can I get only the sound from the trailer ? Or is there any other way (like maybe pasting images and anime videos OVER the original video ? )

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

I would suggest demultiplexing the mpg version of the trailer. I know some video editors can do this, but if the one you use doesn't happen to have a built in demutiplexer, you can use the program TMPGEnc

You can try importing the entire trailer into the program, then deleting the video portion, leaving only the audio in the timeline.

You can also try using Audacity, and set it to record from Stereo Mix, play the trailer, and hit record. I have done this in the past with mixed results.

What editor are you working with? The above method varies between video editing software.

If the video is in a format that can't be imported in your editing program, best thing to do would be to import it to Vdub and demux the audio from there.

Maybe it's practically the same thing, but VdubMod can export a .WAV file directly from the video.

I have Audacity. I think I'll try it this weekend, since I do not have internet at home and so no possibility to download programs...
