to block a track in sony vegas

Post by ambra » Tue Apr 29, 2008 9:39 am

Hi, J'd like to know if there is a way to block a track of the vegas project: When j'm working with vegas, j accidentally cut the audio track together with the track j'm working on
is there a way to block them(but not only audio but also the other track of the project) and make them become unchangeable?
Thanks

are you talking about something like this:

however if you accidentally cut your audio, you can just delete the second half and stretch out the first half to the right length again

gimmie a min and I'll screencap how to lock events on the timeline

yes...but j'd like to know if there is another way, without silence the audio track....
so j can block it and don't worry about it anymore

after re-reading your post I'ma guess you meant lock and not block...

To me block would mean to blank out the event so you can't see it.
However lock would be to lock it into place so you can't change it.

as far as I know there are no "lock" switches on tracks (perhaps newer versions do have the lock switch but 6.0 doesn't have it), but placing a lock on your event only should prevent you from accidentally cutting your audio again, though every time I've accidentally cut my audio, I just ctrl+z'd it (or go to "edit" choose "undo")

if you would like to lock more than one event then use the ctrl as you select which events to lock, and then follow the screencap above...

if you would like to lock your entire timeline, you can go to "edit" -> "select" -> "select all" then follow the screencap above.
