QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY! HEEEEELLLLP!
I've tried everything I could to get good footage for my amv's, but they always turn out to have bad qualty in the end. Whether it's DVD ripping or downloadng, whether I convert it or not, it sux. I can't find good quality footage. Plus, I have Sonyvegas, which doesn't except the videos I already have. I've already tried the DVD decrypter thing and it doen't work on my compy. I know nuthin about technology. Please help anyone? Any suggesstions?

(But you've already stated that you live in Massachusetts, so that applies to you -- unless you're lying. Anyway, if you were really concerned about staying on the good side of US law, you wouldn't be making AMVs.)
The best way to maintain quality is to keep the number of destructive transformations you perform on your video to a minimum.
Keep that in mind as you read http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/. The procedures it recommends will make a lot more sense when you do.
