whats a .rmvb encode??

Hey i was wondering how to i re-encode .rmvb or possibly make a script for it to work with VD.

any help would be appreciated.

Well, RMVB is RealMedia Variable Bitrate, so you need to have either RealPlayer or Real Alternative installed, then you can try opening it using AviSynth's DirectShowSource or ffmpegsource (you'll probably need to add ffmpegsource if you don't already have it).

I don't know how well it'll work, and in my experience, RM/RMVBs tend to be rather poorly encoded, so you're probably better off finding a better source, in particular the DVD if it's available.

well i did ordered the dvd's but the companies said there will be a massive delay on the dilevery time which kinda sucks.

Note: as far as RealPlayer itself goes (rather than RealAlternative, as I've never used that) then you'll need the DirectShow RealMedia Splitter installed. This comes in the CCCP, IIRC, or you can get it from the guliverkli2 Sourceforge page:

This of course only applies when using DirectShowSource. FFmpegSource doesn't require external splitters/decoders to work right.
