Boochsack is Cracking Down on AMVs, audio wise, that is!

Post by guardiansoulblade » Thu Dec 25, 2008 1:55 pm

UTube is starting to use its I.D. system to target certain songs, I recently had to mute a non anime AMV, that I would post here, but it's The Batman, so it can't go up here, even if I redid the footage with a DVD rip. Anyway, no one's UTube AMVs are safe, which is why I've relocated mine to another site called LiveVideo, but anyway, I just want to let people know who post their vids at both places, that the Org is a lifesaver for AMVs, probably one of the last places, Boochsack is now not any fun, but what REALLY ticks me off, is that I've seen the song used in other AMVs on there and THEIR still up, only mine got taken down. Has any other TUber ever had this problem or am I the only one? I buy all my songs too. It's not fair the pirated MP3s stay up while CD ripped audio tracks get taken off.

I think fair use is still something strange for the suers of YT. I wrote in the comments exactly wich sources I used and where people can buy it, but they still took the amv down. Yeah a bunch of my videos were taken down =/

I heard that it´s really a common problem.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:

And I put links of where to buy the songs too! I've even told one of the bands their song is blocked from the Tube. Yes, it is, from now on I'll have to make stupid announcement videos instead of posting them there, but thank God for LiveVideo, it takes longer to upload, but someone actually watches the video before it goes up and I've never had any of my vids taken off there before.

I had my YT account since February of last year but I didn't get into editing until after Thanksgiving thank God, I don't know how long you've had yours but last year was really the golden era. Viacom is really making YT less enjoyable to go to due to this copyright shit, and not only that but YT keeps making these stupid as hell updates like reformatting a decent bulletin system. They are also going after video that are sexually suggestive and some people did a "blackout" last Friday through Sunday which meant that they weren't going on their accounts during those days. The whole idea was retarded as hell to me because those in power were just laughing their asses off since they know that this little rebellion was only for the weekend, how you gonna expect a change that quick? And expecially if you're just gonna come back after 3 days?? Outta the 21 amvs I've made they only muted two of them, I didn't mind however since the two they did mute were my earlier ones and I just re-edited and uploaded them. After that I just took out the animes' names, music artists' names, and the words "anime" and "amv" from all my work and it added extra protection, no one can afford to advertise their amvs fully. But what really crossed the line with me and made me finally open accounts on different sites was when they rejected my 21st amv, I spent the most time I ever did an amv on that one, 7 months worth of planning and almost a month's worth of doing the edits. Received the fastest and best status outta all my work and it was only up for 3 weeks before YT took it down earlier this month, it was fanservice but it was not so bad as to them rejecting it since there were more obscene vids that's been up longer, some them even have hentai in em!! I had the words "fanservice" and "ecchi" in it's tags and I wish I never did, I learned that YT from time to time goes after editors who frequently uploads which is probably how they got me when I had those words. There's no certain schedule they go by cracking down on amvs I'm sure but they will surprise you, I'm just glad they didn't suspend my account. YT is seriously though not the place for amvs as anyone with enough sense can tell you, they've been cracking down on amvs since they started the site and shit just got worse than ever this year. You have to have different accounts aside from YT if you're serious about this hobby, it may be the fastest place to get quick recognition but truth be told most viewers who watch amvs do not know the real values of a good amv: how strong the connection between the anime/animes are with the track/tracks, atmosphere, beat and lyrical syncs, tech and/or effects skills, and replay value. Like I said before, YT is NOT the ideal place for amvs and anyone who only sticks to it will wind up disappointed in time in some way if they haven't already. Besides this site is guaranteed to not do the same shit YT is doing so why not open an account here if you're a decent editor?

Or you could have an account here. I don't even have an account on the 'sack, and I edit. But then again I don't think I'm very "serious" in this "hobby" and I'm not a very "recognized" editor, or whatever ya wanna call it. But yeah, this is a great place to go to if ya wanna get "serious," with the guides and all.

This place is one of the sites I was talking about to have a different account.

Youtube loves deleting my videos, but sometimes leaves other people alone. I think maybe they target videos with a lot of views or it's just completely random. I find that AMVs with a lot of effects are harder to catch because the evade the video scanner that finds matches with copyrighted images. The trouble isn't as much already uploaded videos for me, though, it's uploading new ones because they scan them all. But I'm finding an equal amount of my videos being deleted for video content as for music. But more and more music companies are making deals with youtube. I had an AMV to Dance With the Devil that was deleted but then put back up.

As for livevideo, I've been using it for a while without any problems, but lately it hasn't been letting me upload anything. It claims the video has "innapropriate content" but it doesn't (lol Avatar footage, nothing innapropriate there). I think it's probably just some generic email they send out if they find something wrong with the video, maybe copyright infringement. I don't know exactly.
