split vob directly from dvd

I use to split vobs that were ripped to my computer but I would like to be able to rip a part of a vob without putting the entire thing on my computer. suggestions?

DGSplit should be able to do it (although I don't know how encrypted streams would act afterward):

If it's certain chapters you want, then it's possible to just rip those (DVD Decrypter's IFO mode, or SmartRipper's Movie mode, just select the relevant chapters and go).

Use Virtudubmod, that should work, you can mark out what you don't want.

After some research, found DVD Shrink is perfect for this under re-author mode.
