Heh. new guy here, stumbled onto this place the same way most people did I guess, and figured maybe I could get some questions answered.

This FSN vid here, 2 things: From 1:16-1:20, somehow they get the still images to move like that, especially those lips on Caster, any ideas on how that might have been done? Also, 2nd thing, from 1:34-1:37, the eye color change and teardrop?? Maybe that was CC Mercury on the teardrop, I'm not so sure, but the eye color change, kinda boggles my mind and the movement on it too!! Can a bro get some input on this, thanks in advance..
Hmm, some of the effects in this vid....

Hi, first of all, I'm not sure, but it looks like some of this could've been in the original video clips. Although, if you wanted to move the lips on a still picture to make it look like they were talking, you could possibly edit the picture on PhotoShop or something. The changing eye color also could've been that. Or you could possbily use masks to cover up the blue part of the eye then fade it out. Not so sure about the teardrop though. To move it around, zooming or whatever was done, you can pan it, that looks like what he probably did. ^^ The best answer would, of course, come from the maker of the AMV.
Anyways, hope that helps somehow.

CC Mercury in After Effects is a totally different look than that.

The eye color is the only really easy thing to do. It's just 2 layers, masking and changing color. Like thisBattler-Ushiromiya wrote:Heh. new guy here, stumbled onto this place the same way most people did I guess, and figured maybe I could get some questions answered.

For the mouth moving can be done in photoshop by making several layers of the mouth in different positions, saving each one as a still image and putting them together to make it look like movement. Although I'm not sure if that's what the person did, that's how I would do it.
As for the moving drops and stuff, I have no idea. If after effects is like a moving photoshop as I've heard ppl describe it around here, then I'd say it could have been done in that but I really don't know.

That last part can actually be done inside vegas, (Or AE) You just isolate the frame with the mouth position you want, right click on it and press "create sub-clip". Then you can stretch the sub-clip as long as you want and just mask around the mouth area.Kanti13 wrote:The eye color is the only really easy thing to do.
