(I can't get the Super C support forum to load...)
I'm converting vids for AMV Blitz with Super C, and for the most part it's working fine. However, one video keeps coming out funny. It plays in GOMplayer with no sound, though if I click on the progress bar anywhere but the beginning, the sound will start playing from that point. I tried playing it in WMP, but it does the same (plus with static in the sound.)
The original file is raw DV exported from iMovie, exactly like the rest of my files. I even exported a new copy, in case the file was corrupted. I'm trying to convert to Xvid AVI, ffmpeg, 9504 kbps, with MP3 sound at 320kbps, 48000 sampling freq. (I have varied these settings slightly trying to make something work.)
Anyway, it all comes out the same.
I would welcome any suggestions or advice.

Re: Super C problem file: sound anomalies.
Is it 320kbps VBR, ABR, or CBR? This makes a difference, and why CBR is the recommended mode to use for encoding audio that's to be muxed into video streams. Also, lowering the bitrate might fix it, as most of the videos I have problems like this with have bitrates of 224kbps or 256kbps and higher (again, it may not be all of them, because of the mode used to encode the audio). Or it could simply be getting wonky about the muxing part.
Short of recommending MKV or MP4 for the container instead of AVI, there's not much I can do - if MKV or MP4 it doesn't matter if the audio is in MP3 or not, or what mode was used to encode it. Of course, considering those containers support them, you could use Vorbis or AAC instead of MP3.

I ended up throwing out the sound file and making a new one...seems to work! Thanks for the advice.
