this part made me lol
The prosecution also stated that "The works at issue do not even have arguable scientific, literary, artistic, or political value, such as Vladimir Nabokov's famed novel, Lolita, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, or even Alan Moore's recent, but controversial, graphic novel, Lost Girls. By the defendant's own statements, the works for which he was convicted of receiving and possessing are clearly obscene."
so now our entertainment must have "scientific, literary, artistic, or political value" in order for us to legally enjoy it?
the really sad thing is that this guy is a perfectly normal, harmless person who is a productive member of society and is getting sent to jail for nothing. seriously, they would have to arrest just about everyone who's seen an ep of Seikon no Qwaser or just about any other risque series out there.
so if i draw a stick figure of a 12 year old getting raped and email it to someone i can get them sent to jail for 6 months, sweet, although it only works in Iowa i guess.

WTF? Mainstream artists draw the same crap and get commended! I'm talking about painters, not comic artists, painters. They draw erotic crap (very well, BTW) and don't get sentenced to any jail time at all. I'm kinda irritated.

You're so full of crap. Show me a fine painting where a girl is getting raped with giant tentacles. There are none.

Spoiler :
It is a celebrated example of shunga and has been reworked by a number of artists. Similar themes of human females having sexual intercourse with sea life have been displayed since the 17th century in Japanese netsuke, small carved sculptures only a few inches in height and often extremely elaborate.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

that would have said females being raped etc, but it doesnt..
if the paintings were meant to show them being raped, it would have given that message, but to me it doesnt.
