I predicted (regarding Bote's avatar) that "I know perfectly well that nobody on this site listens to what I have to say about anything anyway, so I doubt those little observations will make any difference whether the thing stays or goes. I bet it won't go anywhere, though."
The request in the mod drop box is gone and Bote's avatar is still there. I _guess_ that means my prediction came true.
I put a link to "Ai Tenshi Ain't Going Out Like That" in my sig on Gaia. It seems to have gotten me a few extra hits so far.
On the news tonight, it appears there was a spy in the White House from the Phillipines. Man, the US is really starting to do downhill, even at a pace that I cannot fathom. You know your administration is incompetent when a third rate country can get a mole into the highest place in the land. Within ten years that place (the US, not the Phillipines) will be in civil war, mark my fucking words.

Well, I didn't expect anyone to give me THAT good a review in the first op that the AMV got...but I'm not going to complain about that. I also most certainly did not expect to see my soi-disant masterpiece in the Recommended AMVs section under the Shoujo Anime category...but like hell I'm going to complain about that either.
Anyway...I have a few bones to pick here. I'm not in any mood to do this in any threads, and I don't think the threads in question need any pollution from the opinions of yours truly. To be polite, I will not name names of the people I am at variance with.
1. Bote's Avatar.
Some person here said Bote's avatar is offensive. For those who don't know what Bote's ava looks like, it shows a Japanese schoolgirl climbing a flight of stairs, with a camera up her skirt, revealing her knickers. The said individual suggested that just maybe this avatar should be removed. :( Now, personally I think that Bote has the coolest fucking avatar on the entire site. I don't see any reason why that .gif should be taken down. The girl *probably* is underage, but so what? It could be either way, and since she's not showing anything she shouldn't be, why bitch about it? That's just my two cents on the issue. 2. Christ, another "OT Revival" thread.

Yeah, that is kind of odd. I hate whenever these threads about reviving OT pop up. The timing invariably sucks. Is it coincidence or conspiracy? Well, who the fuck knows? The really weird thing, beside the timing of the thread, is the entire rationale the thread maker gives for the existence of this site: TEENAGE REBELLION. That's right folks! There's a direct line between James Dean, Elvis, the Sex Pistols, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Judd Nelson in The Breakfast Club and this site! TEENAGE REBELLION! Lemme quote:
"If this site is to be a distrobution [sic] of ENTERTAINMENT media centered on a teenage, rebelious [sic] attitude then we NEED a place to go wild or problems WILL (as they have) arise."
The dude then gave a few reasons why this was so. Anime = teenagers, Music = rebellion. Or perhaps the other way around. It doesn't matter, either way the logic falls flat. I didn't become seriously interested in anime until after I was a teenager. Music? Hell, I don't who this KFDMF or whatever the hell they're called are, so I'm out of touch and not particularly interested in music anyway. Besides anime and video game music, I mostly listen to Avril Lavigne and Serge Gainsbourg when I bother listening at all and that's pretty much it. In reality, Anime = Perverted Nerds, Music = uh, well I guess that equals Music. :/ It could be worse. Sad Star Trek fans draw porn with Spock anally penetrating Kirk, so at least we're not THOSE guys. The only thing about AMVs that's even remotely rebellious is that the RIAA and related entities might frown on this site. I suppose whenever a person makes, uploads, or downloads an AMV they're sticking it to the system and telling the Man to fuck off. That's sort of stretching it. When people download music for free, they usually don't want some footage of FLCL or Sailor Moon attached to it. The only people who could possibly be blown away by the anti-social deviance of AMVs are old dried up fuddy duddies who think all anime is satanic and who need to see a Mexicanjunior AMV or get laid or something.
Speaking of people who need to get laid, I love it when our next popinjay chimes in on a thread. The dude makes Robert Mitchum doped up on barbituates seem like Rip Torn on crystal meth. SNL has the character of Debbie Downer, this site has, well, you know who. (It ain't Flint, because Flint is cool) I'm not going the blow up the world over this, since my main target was someone else's logic, but whenever our hero steps up to bat, I'm not thrilled. I sure don't want a community "extrapolated" from any guy who thinks AMVs are Teenage Rebellion, but all things considered, that looks pretty good considering what kind of people the existing (OT-less) community is extrapolated from. Fuck sakes, dude, lighten up. You come off more of an Alter Kocker than what I am. But considering who has the ear of the administration, and who doesn't, I doubt there will ever be an OT revival, even if the powers that be are supplicated by receiving numerous blumpkins from the faithful.

That's true. Go to Gaia online and look it right now after you've read this. Go and fucking do it man. It's in General Discussion. It's really fucked up, and is worth your perusal. It nothing but a whole bunch of posts about how girls would find a 10 and a half inch dick to be painful during sex, and the thread creator continually bumping the thread and then more girls post, mostly middle schoolers saying how tortuous such a massive schlong would be for their dainty Grade 7 'ginas. And now it's like 70 pages long. I wouldn't even be typing this but ANOTHER big dick thread got posted and the creator posted in that, even linking his thread. :/ So I said to him that he should go and be a porn star and just fucking be done with already. Because, let's face it, when you're that big and you're not doing pornographic movies it's like you're a woman who can grow a beard and wants to live some kind of normal life, as in Not Joining the Circus. Gaia is a pretty fucked up place in general. It is the Mecca for teenagers who happen to be cutters. Like I said, there are also Nazis there, and you can dress your avatar up in Third Reich gear if you so want. If you go to Chatterbox I guarantee you will see a thread where some Osaka-stupid twelve year old girl (or fat, unwashed 46 year old man) wants hot guys to PM and cyber her. There are like a million threads at any given time and enough people online at any time to make a small city. It's fun though. I bought me a pair of bunny ears today, it cost me 4000 gold. You make like 5 gold a post. I want to get one of those kitty cat plushies, but apparently they cost like 40,000 gold. :/
But they have some interestng threads anyway. Most of the political/religious threads are the same thing over and over again ("God does not belong in the fellating Pledge of Allegiance dammit" "Bush is an asshole", "Down with Unions" etc.) so the real meat is in General Discussion. Go to Life Issues to obtain maximum Schadenfreude. Any post where you admit you're going with someone four or more years your junior or senior will get you flamed by self-righteous 'tards, any post where you say you want to do it and you're 17 or less will get you flamed by the very same 'tards. Especially if you're a girl. It makes me want to go on as a mule as a gay guy in Alabama - just to see what happens. ("Hi, I'm 18 from Alabama and very very gay! How's THEM apples?") Ah, the joys of locked threads. A great pity I couldn't chime in on time before the sucker got locked. Ah well, there is always the future.
