long drives, long walks, no sleep and an injured kitten

I always have fun visiting Henderson and seeing relatives since I usually
only go down there like 1 or 2 times a year.
This time it was much more tiring and hectic.
Mainly I was going down there to see my brother on his birthday and
my nephews but alot of other stuff went on this time.
It all started last friday.
I got off from work like around 3:30 PM and drove to Mesquite
to get a game my nephews wanted for their gamecube
since they always ask me for games when I come to visit.
It turned out that gamestop didn't have the game I was looking for (DBZ Budokai)
and a guy that worked there said he reserved a copy for me at the nearest
gamestop in that area.
The closest one that had it was ging near Balch Springs.
I finally made it there and got it along with Soul Caliber 2
since they never played it before and one of my cousins love any game that has Link in it.
I got back home sometime after 6:00 and went to my parent's place.
My mom, sister and dad were also going on the trip to
so I had to wait for them to get stuff ready.
We finally left left for Henderson around 10:00 PM
I went with my mom and she drove the way since she knows the dirctions better.
The dirve was pretty nice except for some of the roads were hard to
see at night since there wasn't alot of street lights at some parts.
At one point I started to fall asleep till I was woke up by
a loud bump.
Im not sure what we hit but it lifted the car of the ground for a second.
It was prettty scarry since we were going like 60 mph at the time.
We finally arrived in Henderson around 2:00 AM and went straight to my brother's house.
I knocked on the door but couldn't get him since he was in the back room asleep
and usually have the music going really loud.
We banged on the door and even bumped his car to set his alram off.
He was still asleep.
I don't know how anyone could sleep through all of that >.>
Since I couldn't get him, we drove to my aunt's house
and stayed there till after 5:00 AM then went back over to
my brother's house.
At that time he was leaving for work so we didn't have time to say alot to him.
Since the sun was up, I went to check out some places that were open like
Wal-mart and got something to eat.
I came back to my brothers house between 7:00 and 8:00 AM and stayed over there
while my family went back to my aunt's.
I didn't even make it through the door without getting jumped by my cousins
asking me what games I brought this time.
They also asked did I bring my Ranma 1/2 DVDs (they are all crazy about that show) but I forgot
about that since there was alot of other things going on.
It was fun hanging out with my nephews.
The only thing that I din't like is that they still have a hard time sharing the game
and often start fights with each other.
At one point i was starting to fall asleep then my older nephew aksed me
to walk to the store with him.
My mom had gave them each some money and they wanted to spend it.
They said it was a "short" walk so I got up and went with them.
I really gotta remember that whenever they say somethimg is a "short" distance,
it always turn out to be a long one.
The walk took over an hour ~_~
I layed down for a bit when we finally got back.
After like 15 minutes, my younger nephew wnted to show me
a game called "Gun"
I heard of it before but never played it.
It was pretty fun and we played it for about an hour.
After that my nephews started to fight over the game again
since one wanted to play DBZ.
I got up and asked one to walk to that store with me again (belive it or not)
and I took my camera this time so I could take some pictures
of scenery along the way.
I really had no desire to go for a 2 hour walk again and only did
it since my nephews are know to get into real serious fights
over video games and I didn't want to deal with all of that.

After a while we finally made it out near the highway

Going twords the store, we heard alot of meowing saw a kitten stuck in a tree.

My nephew tried but couldn't reach her so I climbed it and
got her down.
Since we were at the highway, I didn't want to put her down cause she
might run in the street so I carried her on the way back to my brother's house.
Later on she wanted to get down so i put her down and she started to follow us
the rest of the way.

We took her back in my nephew's room and set her on the bed.

After a short time the kitten and me both were up cause my
nephews started fighting again ~_~
They started wrestling around and almost stepped on the kitten so I took her to another room.
By that time, my brother came home from work.
He wasn't that happy to see her since he is alergic
to cats and we fed her his can of chunk chicken he
had planned on making chicken sald with. =)
It was time to go visit my uncle so I went there with my brother.
The kitten was put back outside and the kids in the next house over got her.
I assumed she would be safe.
We hanged out over at my uncle's place and talked for a while and ofcourse I took
some pics of the scenery around there.

A little later I went back with my brother since he was tired and
wanted to rest a bit.
I was also tired too and and layed down in my nephew's room.
Less than 20 minutes later they started arguing again.
One was playing DBZ and they other turned it off becuase he
wanted to play a differen't game.
At one point, they started wrestling each other again
and I had to hold one down to stop him from hitting the other.
I was pretty annoyed since I haven't been able to get any sleep all day.
Since my brother was there then, he got on them and told them he would take the
games away if they didn't stop.
They calmed down and started playing again.
Even though I pretty much knew what would happen, i started to lay down and go to sleep again.
Shortly after, my youngest nephew aks me to walk to the park with him @_@
He said it would be a "short" distance so I said okay.
We stayed there for a while and it was pretty nice since it was getting late and was more cooler outside.
It was about an hour till we went back home.
When we got back, I played some video games with them for a while and chilled some.
My sister-in-law's family was there too and I met some of them.
I layed down and fell asleep and sometime later my youngest nephew woke me up.
I was telling him to go do something cause I was really tired and thought
he was gonna ask to go for another 2 hour walk.
This time what happend really wasn't expected.
He told me that the kitten was dead!
Even though I was still tired, I jumped up and walked over there.
It turened out the kitten wasn't dead but was seriously hurt.
My nephews told me what have happened.
For some reason the kids next door thought it would be fun
to throw water and glass at her.
She was in a hole in the tree, all wet with blood on her head.
I was really pissed that the kids didn't think anything about what they done
and were out there playing and lauging.
My nephew told them we were gonna call the plolice so they got scared and ran inside.
I couldn't get any phone number for a place to help since I didn't have a directory or
knew alot about the are so I did the only think I could and asked my nephew where
the Henderson Memorial Hospital was.
He siad it was a "short" distance so I got a large box, put a blanked in it and got the kitten
and layed her on it.
We went there and took her into the emergency room and the lady at the desk was like WFT
I explained what had happened and she called for some help.
The police also had to come out since it was a case of animal cruelty.
It caused alot of commotion and alot of people were gathering around to see
what wass going on.
The rest of my family came down to when I called and told what have happend.
I got worried cause the kitten was going to sleep and I kept checking to see was she okay
since she was bleeding from the head.
The animal control service finally arrived and checked on her.
The lady said she would need some stitches and should be okay and
that it was good we brought her there becuase she wouldn'thave been okay with that injury.
They took some pictures of the kitten as evidence of what the kids did to her.
after a while, they told us that we could go ahead and go now but I decided to stay
with her why they were checking her out.
I decided that I wanted to adopt her and ask what I needed to do.
The animal controll lady told me that I could have her but
they would need to keep her 3 days for observation.
That sucks since we were going back to garland the next morning but we
said we would come back and get her.
The lady said we should go ahead and think of a name for her
and we dicided to name her Rescue.
It was thought of becuase she had been rescued 2 times during that day
and alot of people mentioned we did good by rescuing her.
After everything was over, we went and got some chicken at KFC
then we went over to my aunt's house and stayed for a bit.
Aften that we went to my uncles, place since he was throwing a party there.
It was fun but I didn't do alot since i was tired from all that happend and STILL
haven't managed to get some sleep.
After a while we went back to my brother's house at like 1:00 AM.
When we got in my youngest nephew wanted to me to watch a DBZ movie with him ~_~
I watched it with him and then I was finally able to get some sleep till around 9:00 AM.
It was time to go back to Garland then so we went around and said bye to everyone
then got back on the road.
We arrived back in garland in like 3 hours and over the days, we got the stuff needed for our new kitten.
It turned out to be alot more expensive than I thought since I needed a carrier, litter box,cat littter,
cleaning stuff, food and other items.
Yesterday we went back down to Henderson early in the moring and got her.
She didn't like being in the carrier at first but got used to it and fell asleep on
the way back.
She is back home with me now and is doing good.
I never thought there would be a day that i got a cat.

I can understand you being busy with alot of other things.
I've been going through a lil drama myself lately ><
