Back and Never Gone...

Before I say anything AMV relevant let me just say that the movie, The Safety of Objects kicks ass!!!! I didn't think I'd like so much, but man, let me tell ya, it was a beautifully crafted movie. It's a shame it didn't get so much exposure...oh well...and it's also a shame that there's apparently no soundtrack to the movie. There's this song that keeps coming up throughout the movie (called Paul's Song I think) that's really cool. I almost was tempted to start editing to that right then and there (and who knows, maybe I will someday) but I pulled myself out of impulse mode...heh, anyway, I just had to say that...
Anyway, the real reason for the entry is because I'm sooooo psyched for this next project of mine. After "And Now Ladies and Gentlemen" I started thinking about all of my other videos and how they seem rather disjointed...like the flow is kinda not there...err..well maybe it's something only I can notice, but it seems like I haven't made a video to seriously flow seamlessly between images...so for my next project I'm going to work on fixing that. Of course I'll mess around with more visual effects (I think I'm beginning to realize why my effects haven't made that big of an impact to me...like I was implementing them in a rather slow fashion when I should have had them done with more transparencies in mind...bah, I think too much)...
But yeah, the real reason I'm so psyched for this new video is because I finally get to edit with a song that's my favorite...don't get me wrong, I like all the songs I've used before, but the song I have now has been in my head since December..for me, I have songs that I like, and then I have songs that are just the ultimate in my playlist, like I'll have to listen to them everyday to even function right...in the past, it's been REM's "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?" "Silly Ho" by TLC and "Ching Ching" by Ms. Jade/Nelly Furtado/Timbaland...but this new song has just taken over my entire head...so I'm really glad that I finally found a song that's suitable for editing...The first time I heard it (much less the entire album) I knew that I'd use many of the songs for AMV editing...So for this project, I think I'll have a greater drive to 'experience' the music...like I want people to see instruments; the bass, the banjo, guitars, voice...all of it! Myabe I'm starting to sound a little too ambitious, but I think I've got to be postmodern if I want this to work correctly...and I really love the song I'm using.!!! So yeah, I've already started...don't know how long it's going to take me, but I'm still down here at UIUC for the first part of the summer so I'll be guaranteed some peace and quiet to think and edit....

So yeah, even that video with Matchbox 20 that won best drama...it like grew on me...I couldn't get the song out of my head yesterday O_o And then I just now dl'ed Daniel's video...just amazing. I absolutely love "Here comes the sun" by the Beatles and watching that video just brought out all sorts of memories...watching that and the Alternative Eva Opening back to back just doesn't get any better...so much that I think I'll even go back and write an uber lengthy op to show appreciation. The videos were that good!

Sick and Tired...

No really...I'm sick...as in head cold and all and by default I am pretty tired :D ACcen was cool as I suspected...Tasha got to see her video on the big screen and she got quite a few laughs...I got to see mine as well but the laughs were a little more scarce...oh well. I really liked Daniel's vid, though it didn't get any kind of honors (maybe I'm just a Beatles fan O_o). Anyway, there were a few vids that won that had me scratching my head for a few hours afterward. Anyway, congrats to all the winners!
As for me...I still need to add an ending and opnening card to my vid and then I'll put it up on the org...I was debating changing some stuff...but I don't really care now...besides, I have other videos to get started on! - Bah 2004-04-30 04:35:11 In the process of uploading the new vid. for ACEN...I'm actually kinda mad with myself...well not mad, but a little disappointed with how this all turned out. Don't get me wrong...I enjoyed playing around with different ways to include effects and I've learned alot (about black lines and such :D)...it's just that if I had more time to myself to actually work on the vid and not be held back by school or work I'm sure I could've put in something that I'd think of as decent...then again, I'm my own biggest critic so what the hell do I know? I guess I'm just having trouble figuring out why I even entered (it was Tasha's fault, I swear)...guess it'll be cool to watch on a big screen (that is if I'm even around to watch the submissions...I missed a lot of that last year)...meh, everything happens for a reason, I guess, and soon enough this reason will show through...Though I am glad that I'm done with this..I won't be tackling any videos that feature more than one anime for quite a while and now that it's summer, I can get started on my Haibane project that I've wanted to start for awhile...though perhaps I should probably get the light in my room fixed, though I'm sure Bankier will find a way to wait about a week before I move out to actually fix the string that snapped off in the first place...Anyway, I'll probably upload on AMV.org the day after I get back from ACEN...er..whenever I get back to Champaign...'til then, Força...
