Matt you were asking what other movies were on my Fright Night 10 movie box set.. hehe..
I watched the first one tonight. A 1966 film entitled "Kill Baby... Kill".
I loved it.... another movie which further cements the fact that little girls are the scariest creatures ever put on this planet.
I've given away nothing of that as you see the girl being creepy before the title even shows up. ;)
the rest in the box set are
Devils Nightmare
God Told Me To
Pieces
Kiss Me Kill Me
Satans school for girls
The Night Evelyn came out of the grave
Cathy's Curse
The Ghost
heheh
this was an awesome purchase.
And Matt I just read the Hellraiser Hellseeker review in your journal and I'll happily report that nowhere did I see anything remotely like the bad quality you saw. the Cenobites are well detailed and theres no problem seeing them. or maybe thats a bad thing... as it means your tv is failing you. :(
in any case... Kill Baby Kill is a great MST3k prospect. ("We have an old saying in this town. Unless you have money in your heart you will never find eternal rest"). My immediate thought was of crow screaming "What a stupid saying!!!" The actual meaning of the saying is that when someone dies they cut them open and put in a coin... hehe.. so ridiculous and utterly void of depth it could only come from a mid 60's schlock fest...

You are herby required to see this movie....
2002-12-08 00:04:32
Its in theatres now but you probably have never heard about it because I haven't caught a single shred of advertising. Print, pre-movie, tv nothing.... And that my friends is the crime of the century!!!
I dunno if its like selected citys or somethign but its in several theatres here... probably other places as well...
Equilibrium
I cannot possibly verbalize how much this movie rocks.... Me and my sister and one of my best friends could only halfway recall scenes from the movie after it was over.... and they always trail off into "wow",... or even "my god...how cool".
The Matrix now has to come extra hard... its gonna have to bring it cause this movie kick stepped the notches... I am actually fairly angry that the critics all hate it... I haven't read even a somewhat decent review of the movie...
so I'll let the trailer speak for itself.
I'm going to go see this movie again tommorow.
Probably the day after that as well.
It is worth your time!

Bought South Park Season 1 on dvd for $10 due to store mix up... ROCK!
2002-11-13 02:12:10
Oh Matt... I'm sure you'll get more than few people letting ya know but just in case... The version you saw of VHD Bloodlust was the original version... the one in Japanese Theatres had english dub with Japanese subtitles... You mentioned it so I wanted to drop that in there. ;)
Oh and for the "place" the lovers were trying to get away to was never mentioned as you said but the hints they gave I always took it to be the dark side of the moon. "Eternal night and all that"... aside from the numerous faults that jump out at even me from that... its my best guess..
heh...
I keep meaning to see if any of the VHD books are available translated in some way... I think the first movie was based on the 3rd book... and the new one was based on the 7th? 8th? something like that.. I forget specifics but there are a series of those books that just seem like something I'd dig.
anyway.. other than that...
sooo....
So getting South Park season 1 on dvd for $30 less than the sticker price was the mid point of my day... so what. ;)
I was only along for the ride while my sister bought the Lord of the Rings collectors box set... with Argonath (Sp?) bookends... the extended version of the film is truly impressive. They didn't just add in the deleted scenes. The mastered the deleted sections, finished all special effects to the originals polish and even had new score written and recorded for the scenes not in the theatrical version. There are some really welcome additions. Lots of extra Rivendale stuff including Gandalf doing one of the coolest things in the film at the council of Elrond. You'll have to watch it yourself. IF you've read the books this extended version just makes you jump with glee as you see stuff included that while the theatrical got away with not having... its nice to see it there.
IF you haven't read the books well... it informs you on alot that you weren't told in the original 3 hours... the final version on this dvd (spanning 2 dvds itself) includes the extra 30+ minutes. Golems real name, the hobbits in a Shire pub, and black speech of Mordor aside... I really love this film... whether theatrical or directors version it just makes the story seem so uniform and inviting.
Did I buy the dvd?
nope... I think (Not completely sure) that I'm gonna wait for the full 3 movie box set after they are all released and all directors cuts... sure it will probably be a $100 purchase if not much more but I think the wait will be worth it... plus my sister will keep buying the films as they come out... and I can always just watch them then...
I need to watch Jason X (Matt lent me the dvd) but Its past 3 am and I have to wake up in 5 hours for class...
doh!

The new icp album sucks... or its incredible.. I can't decide.....

Am I the only one who hates livejournal with a passion?
I just don't know what it is... maybe its the site design.. maybe its the varied load times I get (sometimes around 3 minutes to load..sometimes instant... and I'm on dsl)... but I dunno.. I just don't like the site...
So why are all you punks switching over there? that was around before the journals started on amv.org.... why suddenly the switch?
bah...
I need to update my site but I've been working on some cg... its taken much longer than I'd like to (I'm impatient when working on art) but I'm liking the way this particular character is turning out... I've got his head, weapon, armor and various articles of underclothing worked out... I'm working on the body, hands and maybe feet. Depends on the overall enviroment that I haven't really thought about before I decide if I need feet for this character... when all the parts are finished I can compile them together and place him in some image....
I'm also working on stuff in real life art shit... my second stone sculpture is nearing finished.. well... finished carving... the sanding and refining process will take at least a month.. so I need to finish within the week to have a chance of being done before finals...
other than that... I'm just doing the normal chaotic things someone does when they have 3 studio art classes and the end of semester is in sight...
