    I just got done re-reading the Preacher series. Probably the single most interesting comic book I've ever read.... I've been out of comics for a long time so I missed it when it was an actual book coming out. Still you can find the Much easier to justify buying Graphic Novels. I really recommend it to anyone interested in a great story in a pulp fiction sense... lotta profanity.. some nudity, violence, angels, god, the saint of killers and more...

    you'll understand if you read it.

    You'll like the religious philosophy going in it if you enjoyed Anne Rice's Memnoch the Devil, which I think is her best book and even the best out of the whole Vampire Chronicles series.

    Whats Preacher about? well without giving really anything away its a Romance, Action, Skewed Religious Satire with enough supernatural elements to make anyone interested in what I'd call Philosophical Fiction give it a try...

    Most would say it was the basis for Kevin Smiths (best) Movie "Dogma". Kevin does the intro for the second graphic novel. Its also got some of the best art I've seen since Sandman. Its a beautiful train wreck... if that makes sense...

    I think it should be standard reading in high schools now that I'm done reading it through a second time.  
  • whats up? 2001-11-20 17:35:24 I'm done with this school week so I'm gonna be able to get some editing done this week.... whats that mean? just means that I'm staying home for the thanksgiving holiday.... thank god.. I really don't like traveling... especially at the holidays... oh wait lets clarify it.. I don't like traveling with family.... its not that I don't get along with my family its just that the whole idea of relaxing in a car and listening to my music seems to be alien to them. They take me listening to headphones as my snubbing thier fun little enjoyments of the road...


    nah nah nah.. I bitch way to much for someone who has it so good.

    anyways... Key the metal idol video is still stuck at the 2 minute mark although I am gonna backtrack around 10-15 seconds and see what I can tweak from those last edits I made... apparently I was smoking crack during that time and screwed quite a few of them up...

    anyways... everyone have a happy Thanksgiving....

    For those reading this far into the entry just lettin ya know that I have finished uploading my mpegs for the relaunch of Otaku Vengeance. The redesign of the site is nearly complete I hear and I just can't wait for us to get this all running again...
    I'll definetly post here and in the video announcements forum when It is.... why? since my Bebop hard Rock video is gonna be available for the first time on a internet wide basis.... its been available on waldo's and showed in the AMV expo at AWA this year.... its really short and odd... most won't even like it... ;) but what tha hell am I gonna do if my ideas aren't crowd pleasers.. its not like I can control inspiration neh?  
  • almost forgot... 2001-11-17 19:05:58 iserlohn man.. just thought I'd mention since you seem to be a huge harry potter fan..

    when harry Kills Quirrel, that change was made via a request from JK Rowling... thats how she originally wrote it (she changed it obviously before the book was released but later changed her mind on that).

    oh and you might not have heard but the original edit after principle filming was 4 and a half hours long. Seeing as how its primary audience was the younger set they had to get it shorter and its still fairly long (although none of the kids I saw seemed to care that it was 2 and a half hours long and it really didn't feel it)

    anyway the last I heard on the subject was a quote from the director. "It will make one hell of a dvd.".

    I think the only thing that could better than your recent rash of Bebop-Fiction stuff would be a few things of Natural Born Killers Bebop stuff.... although its not quite as recognizable and really doesn't have the memorable stuff that gave pulp fiction stuff its charm. ;)

    ah well.. I'm just talkin outta my ass... Just wanted to say I liked it.... thats a short mpeg! ;)
     
  • What a wonderful sky 2001-11-16 18:57:08 I just got back from seeing Harry Potter. Good movie... fairly humorous and all that stuff... if you like to just forget reality its good stuff and worth a trip to the theatre... They really spent the cash crafting the universe of the books... I think I will read them (my sister and assorted other people I know are all pressuring me to read them)... now I have a reason...

    So what else is going on? I'm gonna try and get around to editing (i haven't in a few days) and probably tommorow I'm gonna spend some time at school finishing my last bowl for my ceramics final. I made it really big cause I wanted to use all the clay I had left... It was 11 pounds of clay to toss around (its pretty damn hard if you don't know) because the sheer wieght of the clay takes physical force to move let alone get it to do anything.

    Oh and my girlfriend is gonna be around this weekend... hopefully I'll spend some time with her. (just clarification: she is my sisters best friend so i have to make sure I share her... heh.. I don't mind... they've been friends for so long.... I still worry that my sister finds this setup wierd.... but I hope she doesn't... I just enjoy having a girlfriend at the moment and I'll worry about those things when I have to I guess...

    anyways...

    I've been unable to get some decent cg stuff done either... if I do I'll make sure I post it.
