  • Question about spoiler 2022-04-11 19:16:44 Am I the only one that feels like spoilers only ruin something if a story can't survive them?

I deal with a lot of mental health issues these days, so I have been finding that knowing about what I am going into when it comes to a series really helps out. But I have also noticed that if the storytelling is really good then knowing spoilers or even more drastic, the ending to something doesn't really make a difference.

Right now, I am working through Golden Time, and as usual the last half is getting pretty intense, and I decided to look at the spoilers for the series and so far, I haven't found them to be really changing my enjoyment of the series one bit.

Maybe, I am the only one that feels this way, I am just curious to how other people view these things.

Anyways back to working through the series and scrubbing Sword Art Online for footage.

    Later!

  • Ugh... 2022-04-11 01:44:09 Does everyone else get paranoid that they aren't adding anything new to a series when they do a video?

Like right now I am working like mad trying to get the storyboard done for the video from SAO that I want to, but I keep second guessing myself, asking if I am really going to make something that audiences and judges will care about if it treads some old ground...

Oh well...Another day another insanity lol

  • Just a few ramblings 2022-04-07 13:15:56 NOTE: SAO Spoilers discussions

So right now I am coping with the real sudden change that was the end of the Alcraid arc and how it pushes through into the later seasons. Krisuna is still the key to it all, but them being pushed to the background [or in Asuna's case right out of the first half of season 2] makes for some strange viewing let alone editing.

I want to be able capture the beauty of their love, but its harder to do with the later seasons since those moments are farther and farther apart.

    Don't mind me...rambling like a nut lol

  • Told you guys would get a lot from me :P 2022-04-05 00:04:06 Short entry today...

I am having a nightmare getting some of the songs I want to use the videos I have planned; they are older pieces so that makes it a massive challenge. Not to mention that getting decent recordings is going to be harder as well.

Oh, well tomorrow it's beating Premiere into submission and start trying to figure out how the hell to make After Effects work properly on the new system.

    *sigh*

    Should be fun though

    Cheers guys!

  • SAO - Narrative for AMV 2022-04-04 01:11:22 So a bit of backstory here...

I haven't been active in the AMV scene as far as creating goes for a while...Life just got in the way and I never was able to get back to it.

Being a total hopeless romantic I tend to curate what I watch pretty heavily, mostly because things like Harem comedies or the whole "will they, won't they" just annoy me.

So when I first started Sword Art Online and got through the first couple of episodes I was pretty convinced I was going to have the same problems again.

    Boy was I wrong.

I don't think since Maison Ikkoku I have EVER seen such a tender and loving romance such as Asuna and Kirito. The way they come together is so natural, and it's clear the author looks at their relationship in the true love category. They are such a young couple, but have so much of their future planned because for them it's so simple, be together, get married, have a family and grow old together. I can't tell you how many times I have cried watching the first 15 episodes of season one, their first kiss is such a lovely moment.

The moment I finished the season I knew I wanted to get back to video work, to explore these characters and their relationship/love.

    So here I am!

Alright, so knowing all of that I am in the planning stage of the first video I want to put together, I am likely going to be using "First Time" by Robin Beck...it's a wonderful 80's love ballad that captures the idea of first loves and kisses and how that can mature. I am planning right now to use mostly footage from the first fifteen episodes as that's the beginning of it all. I really want to convey that electricity of a first relationship like this, but also how for them it quickly becomes something much deeper and important, and that when they eventually get out of the game they still want it to continue.

As Asuna says "I want to find you in the real world and fall in love with you all over again"

So prepare for a ton of updates and random thoughts as I make my way through this project and many more inspired by the series.

    Cheers
