Well, it's taken me acouple of months, but I've finally got my latest AMV down to a (somewhat) user friendly size and uploaded it onto the new Kero server.
It is still quite big, clocking in at just under 50meg, but you do get a nice big screen size for your money. I did try adjusting the resolution to bring down the file size, but consistantly ended up with annoying green lines lurking around my extremities. And the doctor wasn't much help, either.
So here it is, a (near enough) 50meg vid with a resolution of 720x304 and an average bitrate of just over 700k/s.

My first AMV in 16 months.
As of right now, I haven't uploaded yet because it's still in raw AVI format at a tiny size of 600meg(!) and I'm playing around with codecs and compressors to try and get a decent little file to share. Hopefully within the next day or two.
All I can say is that I hope you all think I've improved as much as I think I have.
When I say "you all", I mean the half a dozen people who might actually read this crap.
Anyway, the new AMV features the music of the band that I joined, but a track that was recorded before I replaced the bassist.
So yeah, I'm not actually anything to do with the music, so I stamped my mark of contribution onto it by making this video.

A triuphant return to AMVing?

Well, as a few of you may have seen on the forum, I was planning to do a nice short and easy Yaoi vid as my return to editing.
But that fell through for a number of reasons.
So right now I'm doing a live action thing to get my skillz flowing again and I'll be back soon with a real AMV that a few people I know might be interested in... -

Well, my DVD player's crapped out on me as of yesterday. The sound still comes through but there's no picture, just the old Blue Screen Of Doom. I just got a load of cool DVDs for christmas, too. :'( WAAAAH!
On a lighter note, I just found out that THE WHO AND DAVID BOWIE are playing the Isle Of Wight Festival this year! Two ofmy all time idols in the same place at the same time!
This can only mean one thing...
I'll have to sacrifice my new DVD player fund to buy a ticket.
Oh well, I guess the only anime I'll be seeing for a while will be what's currently available on TV, which is Outlaw Star and... nope, just Outlaw Star.
But at least it's a good show, right?
