  • Sonic Mayhem 2006-02-09 13:01:45 Discovered them through a friend who plays quake, and I'm getting addicted to their music. If I understand correctly, they even make music for the game itself. In any case, it's amv quality, and I hope to use real soon.

Other types of electronica or just cool mellow music that I've been enjoying lately:

In Flames' "Timeless" and "Whoracle" these two from them are distinctly different from their usual sound, and I think I prefer them over that sound.

Juno Reactor's "Conga Fury" I've come to understand is from the Animatrix soundtrack, and it's such great atmospheric music. Always a pleasure to listen to.

As for Sonic Mayhem, you'll have to check them out for yourself, I recommend it. They even allow downloading songs on their own website.
  • Pandora 2005-12-24 23:22:35 It's a new way to find music you've never heard of. You enter a song or band and it plays nonstop music that is related to it. I've come across a couple noteworthy songs like Dragonfire by Retrosic (when using Right Here Right Now by Fatboy Slim) and It's Your Reality by Octave One (when using simply the band Octave One).

To follow up on Ratatat, my favorite three songs are Seventeen Years, Germany to Germany, and El Pico. The rest is also good though.

Porcupine Tree was also a good find. They have a great sound in songs like Signify, A Smart Kid, Heartattack in a Lay By, and Collapse the Light into Earth.
  • Ratatat 2005-07-31 13:02:19 They're a more load back sounded group, but they're deliberate in their style. I was introduced and impressed by their song Seventeen years.
