JOURNAL: Harper (Harper cannot tell you his first name. Taboo.)

  • -gasp-. 2004-01-22 08:40:54 Yeah, I'm on my third life already, here... BUT HOW THE FREAKIN' HELL ARE YA ALL? I'm fantastic. I can legally drink Alcohol in August, so I'm doing brilliant. Few things changed since the last we met, save my living quarters and my future JOB. Not going to College because computer programming uses -way- too much math for me to consider doing it for the rest of my natural life. Besides, I know what happens to computer programmers when they die...

They go to Hell and code for Macintosh.

    Fuck that.

No, my future job has something to do with literature, either teaching it or making it, but not before I'm done with a five-year stint with the NAVY. Yep. Harper's gonna be a sailor. He has to sexify his body and mind beforehand (Physical requirements and initial testings; you can get a good sign-on with a decent enough test grade), but he's gonna d'oh it. Rawr. Save money for College instead of spending it on women and booze for a change. I can't wait.

And I know you ladies dig a man in a sailor outfit.

Well, that's all I've time for at the moment. I'm finishing up a review for http://hotcupofrant.com (you'll find me in the videogame section as "StriderEx") and then I'm gonna go sexify my body more. I bid you peace and taquitos.

  • Michigan's pretty again! 2003-03-17 11:54:24 This is day two in the "oh my god it's above 50 degrees" saga in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Horray and stuff. Spring's here, which means it's time to clean out my closet and sell stuf on GTZ. Already sold my Eva DVD set for a hundred bux, and I'm debating wether I should sell G Gundam or not. I was originally planning on selling 08th MS Team, but I've realized that I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT!!!! So that ain't happenin'.

Been seeing lotsa good shows and reading lotsa good manga... Shonen Jump is the greatness, I swear. Shaman King and Naruto are like, the best stuff I've read in a long time. Also been reading a lil screwed up manga called Parasyte, but we'll get into that later. Mebbe. Prolly not, but just letting ya know. =)

I'll add when my tummy ain't so upset. >growls<

  • Wow... the day was spectacular? 2003-02-21 19:42:54 I'm dead broke, but a couple things today made me stay in the happy frame of mind... first things first, I slept GREAT. I slept until noon, but that's GREAT seeing as I didn't go to bed till 5:30 in teh morning due to work. :-/ But I got up, and the sun was shining, it was a tropical 43 degrees in beautiful Grand Rapids, Michigan, and there wasn't a single goddamn noisy bird in earshot. Huzzah.

After opening my door at about 2:30 to go pick up my paycheck, I saw a package was there from Korea, which HAD to mean only one thing... My Slayers HKS had finally arrived! Jez, only been waiting about thirty tril years to get that, but hey. Late is better than never. Popped it in and the subtitles were, of course, flawed, but very watchable. I love that series. Jus gotta get Try and Next and I'll be all set there! ^_^

Still trying to clear my Fansubs to make room to do a few rips and get crackin' on my next project. 18 gigs down, only 28 more to go... 0_o did I download all of this...? God bless DC.

So that's all good. Again, I'm dead ass broke, so I'm selling my Gameboy Advance >sniffle< to try to get rid of my overdraft... which pisses me off. I had an overdraft. Fine. I wasn't told that no matter how much of a debit you do, be it $5, $500 or, in this case, 50 CENTS, they charge an overdraft fee of $26 BUCKS. I'm 556 in the hole and only about 240 of it is actually MY BAD. Friggin' fees. So I'll be headed to the bank (or the Meijer credit union, gotta love job perks) to try and get myself a "Sweet Jesus, I need about 800 bucks now or I'm gonna be living on teh streets!" loan. This is, of course, all due to the traitor roommate who left oh, three months after our one-year lease of the apartment to get married. Which sticks me with the bill because he can't get off his skanky fiance's twat and write me a check, and maybe even drop it in the mailbox...! Ain't life fuckin grand.

    >sigh< All in all, though, stuff's going okay. I'll make it through this. Just gotta sell some of these toys (last resort: Sell Gamecube and games, and that's my LAST resort... suffocation, no breathing, don't give a fock if I cut my arm bleeding, ya know?)... and start watching my spending more closely. The hardest lessons in life can only be learned through failures. Let's just hope I can keep a roof under my head. See, kids? This is what happens when you're a dick.

  • Feh. Not dead yet. 2003-02-12 13:09:24 Between College, Direct Connect and the Gamecube (and all the kickass games I've been getting recently) haven't had much time to do an update here... but stuff's going well. With any luck in the world I'll start my next couple projects, but I'm trying to wait until I have a bigger hard drive till I do that. Having 50 gigs of Anime taking up space on a 60 gig area doesn't leave much room for DVD rips. So that's not gonna happen today, or even this week. But it will happen. =)

Anyways, went over to the Mall and stopped at EBGames yesterday, talked to the guy behind the counter and he informed me that the Promo disc for Zelda (when you preorder it, you get Ocarina of Time and Master Quest for the Gamecube) had come in the day before, so I took that home. Master Quest is Zelda 64 with different dungeons it seems, but I can live with that. It's pretty cool, but I can't really understand (other than poor emulation) why the hell Zelda needs a whole 15 blocks of memory to save. I'm being bitchy, it's worth it. But I must admit I was a bit surprised. I was expecting a -new- game. But that'd be too good to sell for free, right? Heh. Picked up Skies of Arcadia and Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance while I was there. God, I love the Gamecube.

And Olga's Kitchen is STILL CLOSED. :-/ I need muh olgas...

Anime Unlimited's got a kickass hub going with a human being running it. Silent Shadows is great; he's all about sharing and he's a real decent guy to talk with. I was up till 5 this morning talking to him. Mostly about junk, but hey, it's all good. Got to polish off Chobits, and it's guranteed now that I'm gonna be buying that on DVD once it hits the shores. The ending kinda pissed me off (I think at least one more episode was called for), but we can cope. Yes we can.

And now I await .Hack//Sign. Life is good.

    Ja!

  • Well, my two days of glory... 2002-10-29 01:06:33 That's that, I suppose. We hit 13 gigs of uploads, then a thought flashed through our teeny lil brains:

...if his ISP limits him to 1 gigabytes in upload...

^_^ I think you get the picture. He's gonna get stuck with one fat bill this month, and it's my fault for not thinking about it until now. :-/ Iyama Shmuck. Miso Sollee. Had to take the DL links down, but Spawn's still up! :-) Guess I'll see what I can do about hosting my own vids.

...HOW CAN ANY OF YOU AFFORD TO DO THIS!? @,@ CRAAAAZY.
