I never got around to playing MGS2...but looking at this I'm glad I didn't. Anyway I found this bit in the Firearmsmod forums.

I lost everything on my hard drives including the Lain AMV I was working on which was about half-way completed. To add much insult to injury I upgraded to WinXP. Gotta go...time to put on a dunce cap and drink a jug of Chlorox. Wish me luck.
