Yay, AWA tomorrow. I've got 50+ CDs of my AMVs and 50+ DDR Project VCDs to give out. Hopefully I won't just throw them at people in a drunken stupor like I did last year.
Erm...I guess the VAT schedule isn't officially released yet, but I *think* 3PM Friday is the time for the panel with EK and I. We promise to show a lot of random, pointless crap ^_^
<plug>See Iron Chef at 7 PM on Saturday! Yes, witness the excitement of 2 people sitting at computers for 2 whole hours!</plug> As usual, I'm nervous about it again -- I suck at editing on the fly. Pass the booze!

Back from Dallas, and, as usual, I'm exhausted from travelling. And I'm never flying Delta again. They SUUUUUUCK. It was a fun weekend, though I was once again struck with a surprise meeting with another member of Leandra's family; this time it was her cosmopolitan architect uncle. I suck at meeting new people.
I don't think I ate a single bite of food this past weekend that wasn't spicy as hell -- unless you count the pretzels I had on the plane :P
I read all of Black House (the sequel to the Stephen King/Peter Straub collaboration, The Talisman) while on the plane. Wow. I highly suggest you go pick it up and read it. But before you do, make sure you've read The Talisman, all 4 Dark Tower books, and even Hearts in Atlantis. If you've read all that, then Black House is a real gem. It's not exactly a sequel to The Talisman, though...it's set 20 years later, and Jack Sawyer is all grown up. And the plot itself basically serves to set up the 3 upcoming Dark Tower books. I imagine that someone who has read only The Talisman and is expecting a straight sequel would be horribly confused. It makes huge references to the Tower, the Crimson King, gunslingers, the Beams, Breakers, etc...and it explains Ted Brautigan's (the old guy from Hearts in Atlantis) role in all of it. Roland and his gang are discussed, but they don't appear explicitly in the book. It was a good fix for a Dark Tower junkie for myself, though ^-^
While waiting in the airport I read about Quentin Tarantino's current in-progress film...oh man, that looks to be one crazy ride. Can't. Wait. CHICKS & SWORDS!

Whee, going away to Dallas for the weekend.
No real AMV news, since I'm taking a break until well after AWA. Though I have decided on my next video, which will take all of 2 days to make. A simple, cliche video I've been wanting to do for a while, using an artist woefully un(der)-represented in AMVs. And I already have the footage on my HD, so it'll be a one-weekend deal. I might also spend a weekend redoing "Miyazaki's Heaven," since I finally have the source to make a really representative video.
