The Power to AMV

It has been years since I joined amv.org as an Anime and AMV addict. When I joined up I wanted to make AMVs, but I never had the POWER, the computer processing capability, hard drive space, the program or the knowhow. Now I've finally have the power and A program that can accomplish something: Windows Movie Maker, but it brings me to tears with the way that it crashes every time I get maybe 6 clips or so into the amv. I want a better program - I'd like one for free but it's really hard to get good ones like that... ;-;
Plus I want to sign into the forum but it won't let me! I know I have an account but it says I'm inactive and I'm not sure how to become ctive again now that my interests have become involved with the community here because I have the power. I'm a total leech right now, but I want to contibute more, but the site isn't making that easy... saying that it only wants good finished AMVs... the only 2 AMVs I have are not worthy for here in concerns to the guidelines they put up, they are not the best they can be, and I'd like to do them better... but as I said before... WMM is evil. If there are people that look regularily at journal things... (This is the first time I found it... Spurred on by me wanting to be more active here...)
