Four hundred eleventh entry - sympathy
2008-01-30 23:56:31
Time - 9:50, Noise - Yana Kay - "Tears in the Rain"
Y'know, sometimes I sympathize with the newbies who just want someone to send them source footage for a video or to be able to use downloaded footage and not be ridiculed for it. At times, it's very frustrating that my AMV ideas are limited by the source that I own. Doing a multi-anime video is pretty much out of the question, as I don't own nearly enough anime to pull off something that can truly be called "multi-anime." A multi-game video? Sure. But I have more games than I can count.
That said, I find it a strain that I can't just ask people who own the anime on this list...

...to rip me some .vobs for what I need. The anime club doesn't look to be pulling through for me like I thought they would, and at this rate, it's looking like I may have to simply drop this video idea for ACen. If I can't confirm that I can get most of the video sources (particularly the ditzy girls) by mid-February, I'm pretty much screwed for time. I take way too long to edit to start the video any later. How I ever managed to finish Let the World Crash when I started it in March is beyond me. Hyper-focused editing, I think, since I already knew what I wanted to do for the most part in that one.
So tempted to randomly start PM-ing people asking for .vobs.
Must... stick... to ethics...
<insert epic conscience struggle here>
*sigh*
On a good note, I edited another fifteen seconds on my video. Yay. I just got past the full intro now, so I'm finally going into the lyrics. Here's where I go on my guard and try to prevent myself from falling into the same "change scene at every measure" rut. Yes, I want to follow the lyrics, but this is a song with very distinct beats in it, and I'm looking forward to switching up my style enough that I can follow them. Not a "genre challenge" piece exactly, but it should look a little different from my other videos sync-wise. Hopefully.
Hrm... sure wish I had those anime.
Nighty night, folks.

Four hundred tenth entry - some good, some bad

Before I get started in, please join FMV2, or Endcat will kill all that you love. *nod nod*

Secondly, if you can think of any suggestions for this, I'd be appreciative. I'm not looking for any arguments on the girls; I just want suggestions, and I'll figure out which ones really do and do not work when I rip the footage.

So, today's entry is an assortment of good and bad.
Good: I edited thirty seconds of my AMV today. Hooray. Only four minutes left to go...!
Good: I dropped my math class. Sure, that drops me down to twelve credits, which is less than I'd like, but at least I don't have to worry about failing another math course.
Good... well, Bad too: band was canceled tonight, which is a heaven-send given how absolutely horrid the weather is right now.
Good: Skype works now that I have the lappy. <3
Bad: it turns out that my VCR at home doesn't work like my mother said it would. I didn't watch my speedrun before I left for college because the site I'm submitting it to asked that you don't go through the tape more times than you have to. It degrades the quality. So I didn't. I figured I would just wait 'til I got to college, use my RA's VCR to watch it once through in order to comment on it, and then submit the sucker. Well... it didn't record my run. Needless to say, I was about ready to cry after all of the work I had put into that thing. Turns out that there were two improvements that I had forgotten about anyway, so re-recording it isn't such a bad thing - but I have to do it in my RA's room, on her VCR. I would have rather done it at home where I'm more comfortable and can concentrate better. Oh well.
Bad: The weather is miserable, as I mentioned. It started off at a decent temperature (32), so although there were a few little patches of ice around, it wasn't so bad. At noon it turned to a misty/snowy/rainy thing, and the wind had picked up. By the time I walked home at three, the mist had stopped, but the wind was ridiculous. There was no way to guard any part of your body if it wasn't wrapped already. I was glad when band was canceled.
Well, I'm getting distracted, so I'll be off now.
See ya, folks.

Four hundred eighth entry - I knew it
2008-01-25 21:20:02
Time - 7:59, Noise - FMV2 mix
I knew FMV2 had way too many tracks, and now it's only half-full because of that. Fuck. Well, secondary auditions have opened, and I would really, really appreciate some more people joining.
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=1094020#1094020
If you're already on the project, please read my post, as anyone interested may take a second track - with a few rules to abide by.
I haven't decided on my second beta tester, as I've had several guys that I trust to do the job audition for it. I'm honestly not sure who to pick.
Aaaaaand... that's pretty much how I spent my entire Friday. Auditioning. Hooray.
See you, folks.

PS: I'm not sure I'm going to get the re-render of FMV1 out before February like I said I would, but I'll try.

Four hundred seventh entry - Oh Em Gee
2008-01-24 22:51:15
Time - 8:45, Noise - potential AMV music...?
Hey. Auditions for FMV2 end today. Go get your spot~!
So... all in a rush, I got three brilliant ideas for videos. :O
First off, I totally have a MEP mix in the works. For what, I have no idea, but it'll sit happily in reserves until I find a purpose for it - assuming I get it to mix correctly.
Secondly, for the genre challenge that godix proposed, I think I know how to get two categories with one video. I found a great song (which has actually been used in a few good videos on the site, but what I have is an equally cool remix) that could easily support both an action video and an effects whore video. Since I'm technically "supposed" to do both of those categories, it's a good deal, right? To be honest, it may be the video I work on while I'm in Spain, since Cod knows it'll take a HUEG LEIK XBOX amount of time to do it.
On a third note (hey wait, that means we've built a chord!), I think I know exactly what I'm going to do for my ACen video. Thing is, I don't have nearly enough sources with footage to do it. It'll be a multi-anime video, and I do have the base anime to start from. Thankfully, I only need a minute or two from a ton of anime, so finding people who would be willing to offer up some ripped footage from anything I or my best friend do not own ourselves should be decently easy. No, I don't have Netflix or anything like that, but there is the anime club on campus, and I'm hoping I could snipe some DVDs from them as well. In fact, I should start a thread on their forums now regarding that.
Totally getting cracking on my ACen video~! :D Oooh, this'll be a good one.
And that's all for today's entry. Just some happiness and floaty ideas. Man, I love the floaty idea stage. <3
Join FMV2 before it's too late...............!
Nighty night, folks.
