So just finished editing the last sequence of my new vid. What I thought would take 3-4 hours ended up taking 6. >.> But whatever....Good stuff. Now all thats left to do is tweak and fix some timing and effect cues and finish up some rotoing and I'll finally be finished. So it looks like I'm in the clear for that Acen deadline...whew. Now for some sleeeeep......
P.S. - expect to see the new vid uploaded around Wednesday or Thursday unless I fall into a coma from exhaustion and can't post it. - Wheeee...smoothest 5 seconds ever! 2007-03-28 05:23:19 Just got done with some editing and by sheer luck I happen to make the smoothest 5 seconds in my vid so far. :P Not to say the rest isn't good, but it was the first point in editing the vid where I suprised myself and had fun tweaking settings here and there to make the scene look even better than I had pictured it. Yay for great moments and flukes!

Ok...I've been working on a new vid since January, but for the past month or so I've been kinda tied up on a couple sequences in the vid. I really couldn't get it to look the way I wanted it to in regards to the music. So for the past month I've been editng for a few hours, watching the results and immediately scrapping the effort due to disatisfaction. And lately I haven't even given more than 10 minutes of effort toward trying to edit before getting upset with how little I could come up with to fill in the blanks. But it's all over now! I couldn't sleep very well tonight so at about 6 am I got up and started messing with the vid again. Low and behold, 3 hours later I frickin nailed the part I've been stuck on. Oooooo yeah.
I'm so happy...and tired...and I gotta go to class in an hour. >.>
The costs of the creative process take a major toll on my sleep schedule...but it's totally worth it. -
AWA's over and that means new vid time finally! And a new one starts...maybe?

Yep got back from AWA yesterday and got all rested up from the crazy weekend that it was. I won't go to far into it since countless people have already spoken on the subject so much already, but the con was great. There were sooooo many editors there to meet and chat and hang out with. The AMV room was awesome with so many good panels and the premieres of Novem and ROS 3. The AMV contest was also really fun. Myself and alot of friends there ended up walking away with awards so it made for good times. Other than the con stuff, my plane home got stuck in Dallas...so I was forced to stay there for the night and fly back in the morning, then go straight to work. :( But I'm good now after a real nights sleep in a real bed. :P
In other news, my new vid is finally up for download! It's been finished for a while now but I kept it under wraps until AWA Pro was over. It's a fast paced action vid set to a drum & bass song using Samurai Champloo. I'm really happy with how it came out but it took much longer than I had expected. If you go back through my journal entries you'll see what I'm talking about. But I'm happy that I finished it up in time for Pro. I got alot of good feedback from the other editors in the contest and the vid did end up taking the Best Action & Timing awards. But that aside, it's really just a crazy action vid that I did to test my syncing skills to a more complex and challenging song. So I hope everyone enjoys it!

Well, I've been on a break since I finished my newest vid, so I haven't really touched editing for the past month or so but I'll be starting my new project shortly. I can't even say how long it's going to take since it's probably the first vid that I'm going to use After Effects. :O Yep, I've finally reached the point where my ideas are starting to demand the extra processing power of AE. I really look forward to learning and growing accustomed to AE and I'm anxious to get this new vid underway. So I'll post again when I've got something solid to report on!
