  • RO RO RO your boat... 2003-07-22 23:25:46 sigh...RO is controlling my life. I've not watched more than a few hours worth of anime in 3 weeks. I could count on one hand how many AMVs I've seen in the past 3 weeks we well.

Atleast I'm getting my schoolwork done. Now I just gotta work on that sleeping thing... ^_^ ...... WHAT?!! RO is shutdown for maintainance for 2 hours!? Wha...What will I do for that time?!! *starts to shake*
  • bebop 2003-02-21 17:11:47 While watching "Session 02 - Because She..." by SpPANDA with the song "Theif" by Our Lady Piece to the anime Cowboy Bebop, I came to a realization.
Faye's life is immensely tragic. She's had a horribly traumatic life and now spends all her time escaping reality by gambling and drinking. Spike's life is about as bad, perhaps worse. He's an ex-freadom fighter later joins a syndicate only to be banished by it. All the while he thinks the love of his life is dead and can only see his past over and over again with his cyborg eye. He can't let go and drifts through life now completely without direction. Then there's Jet. He's an ex-cop, betrayed by his own force and then betrayed by his own wife. He fines a little comfort in the plants he cares for, but is mostly a sad man trying to peice his life back together. Also, there is the dog Ein. Ein has lost his way, but other than that he's not doing too bad.
    ....
The realization that I came to (after reflection) wasn't true. I thought Edward was this poor band's "mother". But in truth all Edward signifies is hope that life could be better. Perhaps all there is to realize is that beneath the shiny surface Cowboy Bebop is an increadibly sad anime.
  • i wonder 2002-12-31 06:16:50 I wonder....has the activity of AMV.org dropped? It seems like less and less people are commenting on videos. They're either not bothering to comment or less people are coming to AMV.org. Commenting on videos you've seen helps in the AMV production process I think. It allows AMV artists to get feedback and praise on their AMVs which in and of itself is insentive to make more AMVs. To know that people are enjoying your work most likely helps artists validate their time and effort usage.

The reason why I happened upon this idea is that many of the best AMVs I've collected and commented recently have received very few comments. With the quality of these AMVs one would assume they're receive more feedback.

Perhaps it was the oncoming of finals and the holidays that lessened the traffic around AMV.org.
