- 2003-12-03 15:03:46 Today was a fruitful day... I managed to finish watching all off the footage I need for my new video aswell as convert some more DVD's to AVI ... I need to make 3 more AVI files before I can actually start editing ... But there's still the damn VOB that could thwart my progress ... if you think you can help me solve my VOB problem, please check the forum and reply to my topic in the video hardware help forum. Thanks to anyone who can help me solve it!

Just a quick post to confirm I'm actually still at it. I haven't forsaken the project ... on the contrary, I've actually almost watched all of the footage (one DVD left to go) and I've been busy making AVI files and I've got several done (My PC keeps crashing so it's quite a task). It should be a week or two before I can start editing but I'm anxious to start, I have a lot of ideas!

So I actually did more stuff for both videos... it's quite uncommon for me to be thinking about two video's at once but they are so totally different it's less tough than I thought. I finished ripping the footage (but for one nasty one gig VOB which defies me and keeps causing me trouble, I have to see how I can get this fixed). And I ripped the audio for video #2. Besides that I actually wrote a plot for both videos without mapping the entire things out. So I now effectivly have two scripts leaving miles and miles of creative freedom without letting me wonder off ... bitching! As a comparisson the first video has a 3 page script while the second (which is much more open to creativity) is only 1 page.

So I dumped my original video idea (see previous posts) ... it wasn't turning out like I wanted it to at all ... in fact it was getting rather tedious. So I pondered and pondered and finally came up with not 1 idea but 2! I'm not going to tell anyone anything about the footage/audio/theme since I want these babies to be a suprise. I will keep you up to date on the progress of both videos in this journal though...

I edited another segment of the video, pretty much the same as the 3 scenes prior to it except that it didn't need any photoshop work, I've now come to a point in the video where the editing will intensify a tad, the same trick will be used, theres just another part which will make editing 1 scene about twice as long...
Current status: 6 seconds and 6 frame = roughly 3,7%
