I'm so busy with life and other hobbies that I can't find the blocks of time I need to devote to this anymore. It is/was a lot of fun, but life doesn't afford me the luxeries that others have found. I can dream, but in waking I must move on.

I can't believe how long it's been since I was on AMV. I can't believe how long it's been since I made a journal entry. Man, I've been away too long. I've been so busy with life offline that I haven't had time to do much online. Of course, having dial-up doesn't help either -- part of the price for living in rural America (but worth it).
I did work on my AMV project a little back in May, but I still haven't finished it. I got another 60-90 seconds of it completed though. Maybe, I'll have it done by Christmas. ;) Maybe if I didn't have a full-time job, a 30 minute commute, a wife and daughter or dial-up, I'd be able to work faster. LOL
Oh well, I'm enjoying life and I can't ask for more than that. I did watch all of Scryed in my off-time. I just haven't had big chunks of free time to devote to AMV production. Actually, if I don't work on it this summer, I won't probably be working on it until Christmas because I'm going back to school part-time while I'm working full-time.
Maybe this will be my final AMV project? I can't do everything I want to do. With a full-time job and a family I don't have lots of free time, and what time I have isn't enough to fit everything in. I must think on this before I make a decision. Until then... Later. -

I'm back! After some time away, I'm back. I started working on one of my AMVs I never finished. I'm re-doing a little of it and re-encoding the video with a better method. I'm hoping I can churn this out before year's end. If not, I should be able to complete it in January. I'll have almost an entire week to work on it during my vacation between Christmas and New Years.
Also, I got a new laptop, and it's sweet. I'm going to install the software I need on it and use my USB 2.0 drive for raw video storage and some project file storage. That way I can swap files back and forth as needed and not eat up the internal HD. It has a 256MB Nvidia 6800 Go video card on board, so I'm hoping that will help it process faster than my current desktop. Even if not, it will play games better. ;) My desktop has a slightly faster CPU, but only a Nvidia 5200 with 128MB. Although my desktop does have almost 6x as much storage internally (spread over two HD). The laptop will become my portable studio, but most of my processing will still be done on the desktop -- because of the storage capacity.
When this video is done I'm going to work on one of the other few I started, but didn't get very far with. I mainly wanted to get the ideas out, so I wouldn't forget them. I've got some new anime to work with now too, so I might have some new ideas crop up. Anyway, that's all for now. Later.

Getting settled in...........

We are finally getting settled into the new house. I haven't setup the computers yet cause we aren't sure where to put them. We had originally thought we would use the basement as a make-shift office, but it turns out the basement isn't elctrically wired for it. We could have an elctrician come in and do what we need, but I'd rather wait until we know what we want to do in the basement (design-wise).
As soon as I get my computer up and running again I'm thinking of going back to encoding video for editing. Don't know how long it will take though because I'm still doing little things around the house like putting up curtains, arranging furniture, hanging pictures, etc....
I'll try to still update my journal from time to time, but no promises on AMV projects just yet. I still want to work on them, but a little thing called "life" gets in the way some times. :)
I was right, by the way, there are only two options for internet access at the new place. One is dial-up -- which I don't know if I can handle since I haven't done it in like 7 years. Two is satellite dish -- which is expensive for the basic level (equal to a slow DSL speed) and even more expensive for their premium level (equal to a slow cable-modem speed). I'm going to go cry now. Later.

New House taking up spare time............

We finally closed on the new house and are starting to move stuff in. This weekend we are going to try moving all the big stuff. I've got several friends and family to help out. It should help to have lots of people. Hopefully we can get 90% or better of our stuff moved.
Right now the new house is taking up all my time. Once we move, we won't have internet access. I don't think it's available where we are moving (out in the sticks). That might be a good thing cause it might give me time to focus on my AMV projects again. I can always upload the finished project from a place I do have internet access (like work).
We are excited about the new digs. It will be nice to have our own place again. Keep on what you're doing AMVers. Later.
