US Election week.........

I'm so sick of hearing about why I should vote for this candidate or that. I'm so sick of hearing people tell me to vote for one candidate over the other just because of one issue they think means everything. I'm so sick of hearing about how everything is or isn't the president's responsibility. I'm so sick of hearing what this candidate or that candidate SAYS they will do if elected. ACTIONS speak louder than words and I can't remember the last candidate that didn't give a lot of empty promises just to win votes. They are all slime balls and the fact that I have to pick between worse and worst sickens me most. I won't delve into who "I think" is worse and worst because what's the point.
It strikes me as odd though that 99% of the people I talk to are voting for their candidate not because they love their candidate, but because they hate the other guy. I can't remember it being that way in the past. It's really sad. Someone worth having as president will never be president. Neither party would allow it and they would probably not seek the position in the first place.
I'll take the Star Wars approach and submit a vote of no confidence. Can I do that? I have no confidence in the system because we've managed to break it. Whether I vote or not, regardless of who I vote for, I don't think I'll be able to sleep at night. Will you?

Busy weekends.........

This past weekend and this coming weekend were/are packed with stuff to do already. I won't get back to the AMVs for a couple weeks. I need to just block-off a weekend for AMVs. I've also been busy catching up with an old childhood friend that I haven't talked to in years. I'm going to have a big vacation at the end of the year that may give me time to work on my AMVs. We'll have to wait and see. If I can get everything prepped between now and then, I might be able to actually pump out a video. I can only hope. Well, later.

One of my favorite useless presidential race statements -- my other favorite is mixed messages. Can I go for option C -- none of the above?
Anyway, I didn't work on AMVs this past weekend. I played some games and spent time with the family instead. I did see that there is a DVD ripping guide out there. I'm going to check that out and see if that helps. If I can get the DVD footage into Premiere I'll have more motivation to work on my AMVs.

Computer crash...........

My computer crashed Friday night about 11:30 PM. The NTFS.SYS file corrupted on the hard drive and I spent 5-6 hours trying to recover my system. I finally got it up and running without having to reformat and re-install.
I lost some settings because the registry got partially corrupted I think. I had to re-install SP2 for XP and some other MS patches and updates.
Needless to say, I didn't do anything for my AMVs as aresult. I was too tired on Saturday and had other things to do. Sunday was already packed, so I didn't have time then either. Maybe I'll get to it this weekend. Later.

Late this week........

I'm a little late this week on the journal entry, but at least it is still this week. I think I'm going to try going throught the tutorials again on ripping DVD footage and see if I can figure out why it doesn't seem to be working. If I can figure it out, I'm going to try ripping some stuff again. I've also been working on transfering some data to DVD+R so I can free up some hard drive space. I looked at my mostly finished projects again and I don't know what I was thinking for some of it. I was going to re-do them with better footage and with Premier anyway, so no sweat off my back. Well, I'm hungry, so later.
