Kick-off
2008-01-27 01:16:41
I've officially started working on my track in the FMV2 Mep, and I'm pretty excited. I actually work better with strict deadlines when it comes to editing, so this shouldn't be a problem. I'm also rediscovering my love for Drakengard, which is absolutely awesome in all its hack-and-slashing, dragon-loving, incestuous, giant-baby-filled glory. Strangely enough, even though Final Cut Pro's never given me any problems in the past four years of using it, for some reason its decided to give me all the trouble its been saving up in that time. Programs are so fickle. Anyway, here's hoping all goes well, ya?
PS: The FMV2 Mep is still holding secondary auditions, so if you're interested in showing a video game some love, check it out!

Gungrave Video? Really?
2008-01-20 23:38:42
Alright, so I broke down at put it up; I didn't put say anything in the forums cause it's nothing really fancy, just something short and sweet I put together the other day, so check it out if you've got a spare minute (it actually is only about a minute long...). Enjoy.

Hmmm...
2008-01-18 00:01:30
Well I just made a short (~1 minute long) video using the footage from the Gungrave game. I'm debating whether or not to put it up, because even though I like how it turned out, the quality's not that great, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. It was nice and pretty and clean and as soon as I imported it into Final Cut it looked all blocky and weird. I always seem to have quality issues. Huh. Anyway, we'll see if I put it up or not, but if I do it probably won't be for a day or so. Maybe now that I've got Gungrave out my system, I can get back to work on that Mushishi video. Maybe.

Nanase Hikaru

Great composer, at least in the case of Angel Sanctuary and Noein. The former was a severe disappointment except for the music, and the latter, while it took a while to really get moving, was quite intriguing. Definitely worth looking into. Very interesting animation style, too, even though it sort of wobbled back and forth between a couple of different ideas before finally settling on one and sticking to it.
I am also finding myself strangely enamored of instrumental music, and am clamouring to edit to the same. I am building a list of possibilities, and potential footage to match.
And at meleechampion, happy birthday! Here's hoping this year treats you well, yeah?
Ah, and that Mushishi video I've been hashing out for the past month or so? Well, now that I have nice shiny Gungrave footage on my computer and am remembering the awesomeness of that game, my dedication to Mushishi is, shall we say, divided. It is anyone's guess as to the outcome, though to be fair, I must add that the potential Gungrave videos frolicking on the horizons are much shorter and more manageable than the just-shy-of-six-minutes monster that Mushishi is becoming. But we shall see.
