I didn't think I would use this Journal thing. But I have been amusing myself reading other peoples, so I figured, what the hell. Here I go...
So, how about that AWA? Pretty fun, huh? Though the elvevators in the hotel were sufficiently scary. I am not a big fan of elevators. I am not a big fan of walking up and down stairs either, so I deal.
Our hour in the VAT went better than I expected. I was afraid that someone would stand up in the middle of me talking and scream "Who the hell are you?!? Nobody has heard of you!! What the fuck was Daric thinking giving you fools an hour to talk about yourselves? Put Hsien back on!!" Luckily that didn't happen. We had a pretty good turn out too. Bigger than some of the more well known people, I think. Probably because there wasn't anything else going on at 3pm Sunday afternoon.
It was cool meeting people I had heard of or only talked to online. Or at least see them from afar, and say, "Hey, look, its that dude. He made that one video."
Random people keep IMing me and asking "Whatcha buy at AWA?" Geez people, I didn't buy anything. Stop rubbing it in. I have no money. Life sucks. I need a real job.
Now that AWA is over my next big event is a wedding on Oct 7th. I am the best man. Ugh...I have to give a speech, or do whatever the best man is supposed to do. I wonder if they would mind if I just showed some amvs.
OK, so I figure its time that I start working on a new video. I haven't finished something since February, so I am long over due. So get this, I have two new ideas (to add to my half dozen old ideas), both are to music that I wouldn't normally listen to. One just isn't my style of music. The other is a band that I actually despise. I consider them one of the most overrated bands of the 90's. But they have a new single that I happened to catch on the radio. I think it fits a certain anime pretty well. Even though I haven't finished watching this series yet. I let Grungetta (who has seen the whole series) listen to the song, and she said she hates me. Which means she probably thinks it would work pretty well.
So should I make videos to music that I don't like? I guess it shouldn't matter. There are videos made by other people that are to music I hate that I still enjoy (i.e., Kusoyaro's Limp Bizkit Trilogy, SLB's Kid Rock Trigun). The important thing is that I make a good video, I suppose. Maybe I would be better off. It's still hard for me to listen to The Impossibles Decompression/Debilitation, and that used to be my favorite of their songs. Making a video ruined it for me.
I am currently burning 4 CDs of our videos for Kwasek. He is going to send them to some contest winners. From a contest we had a long time ago. I'm not exactly sure why he asked me to burn them. But I will do it, if it will get those poor people their prizes. They have probably seen all of our videos anyway.
Whoa, this is pretty long. Didn't realize that I had so much to say. If you were reading this in order to figure out what the title meant, it is from tonights episode of Invader Zim. That show rules. Especially considering it is made by a bunch of Americans. Watch it. Fridays, 9pm, Nickelodeon.
