JOURNAL: GloryQuestor (John W.)

  • Of Eagle and Editing 2007-01-26 17:05:08 I had a lot of fun last night while playing PangYa (aka Albatross 18). While in a three-way short game, I eagled (hole-in-two) the first hole of the Ice Cannon course. I was just as surprised as those I was playing with ... the ball just hit the hole at the right point and PLINK! Needless to say, I was ecstatic after that. ^_^

Editing has been going well, also. No new videos to post yet, though, but plenty of ideas I've been working on.

See you after the weekend :)
  • Did I say I was starting up the Journal a year ago... : 2007-01-23 18:07:46 Ugh. I hate that I didn't decide to finally go back to writing journals again until now. -_-; However, now I'm back to writing them. It's been a crazy year, though. Conventions, adding to my DVD collection, more video goodness, Iron Chef Idol ... fun stuff, overall.

I'm finding myself busy this month. Workflow has been steadily increasing, projects I've been holding off for a while are getting picked up again, and I am feeling more relaxed right now.

Lately I've been getting everything together to head to Tekkoshocon in April. If you are going to be there (even briefly), drop a line and let me know, either here or on the #AMV channel. It'd be great to know who I might meet at the convention. :)

That's enough for today. Hopefully going to have more to talk about soon.

    See you around. :)

  • It's been a while... 2006-01-31 22:02:01 As you can tell, I haven't been a big journal writer, but I thought it'd be nice to start up again.

On the gaming front, I'm still playing through Megaman X Collection on my GameCube (presently playing Megaman X2), pulled out Threads of Fate for PS1 and playing through the Rue Story (after finishing up the Mint Story ... she's awesome), and still playing the "plus" mode of Dragon Quest VIII on-and-off. I'm also trying to complete Ultima IX: Ascension, so that I can at least say I've beaten all of the main-story Ultimas (and the game itself is interesting, despite critical disdain).

On the AMV front, I still have a lot of betas floating around that I want to make into full AMVs ... but, it will have to wait since I have a lot of studying to look forward to. Once that's over with, though, you can expect one or two new AMVs to see the light of day.

On a final note, thanks goes out to SephirothJenova, who reminded me just how much fun it is to write a journal. :)

    More to come.
  • Been a while... 2005-07-08 22:32:10 ------------------------------------------------------------
Newest Video: "Noir's Knockin' on the Door"
    ------------------------------------------------------------
I guess the only thing I have to mention is the great AMV Radio segments. So far, the guests have been nice (especially Kyle Herbert and suberunker), and I can't wait to hear from Scintilla next week. :)

Also, if you thought LinkinBallZ videos were fun, check out my tribute , "Breaking the Honey Habit" (a.k.a. the "Linkin-Honey" video). It's not so great a video -- in fact, it was very much thrown together -- but then again, you could say that's the point. ;)

If you want to see my much-better recent videos, check out "Goodnight, Tokyo 3" and "Noir's Knockin' on the Door". :)
  • A new video up, another on the way 2005-04-24 18:30:24 New Video: B-Ko Has Too Much Time on Her Hands
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
I put the Rayearth project (mentioned in my last journal entry) because I have another one whose idea started with a request my dad, who is a big fan of the artist who will be in it.

This new video will also have some laborous, complicated digital edits to it -- or at least, they would have been if I hadn't bought Photoshop. The tools in this program are very nice to work with, and turned what would have been nigh impossible into possible.

On a personal note, it's snowing here. No joke -- I'm looking out the window and seeing snow covering the ground. I did a double-take this morning, and just couldn't believe it's almost May.

I also picked up a copy of Madlax Volume 1 over the weekend. This is somewhat like Noir, yet isn't. I like that they started it like how Noir started -- with Madlax performing her jobs, Margaret being... well, rich, and only a few threads of a main plot popping up here and there. I can't wait to see what's coming up next.

Well, I've got a lot of DVDs to look forward to over the next few months. Can't wait to finish up Evangelion Platinum and start on the next series I'll be collecting: Chobits.
